OC Tournament Entry

Hey-lo guys, I’m finally getting around to finishing this! I hope you like Aka

Questions:

1. Who are you entering?

Aka, The Huntress

2. What are they?

Demon of smoke and fire

3. Do they have any magic? If so, what?

Yes, though it is limited to simple illusions and her natural abilities with fire.

4. What attacks/abilities do they have? Describe what they do. Rate their proficiency in using this attack/ability.

Aka can summon flames that (are supposed to) obey her will, and strike at her opponents. She is very good at summoning these flames and burning things with them, but beyond that her control over them is all up in the air.

She is also a very skilled archer, and is a able swordswoman (swordsdemonness?) though she usually relies on using fire or her bow.

Overall though, Aka is a very skilled fighter.

5. Do they use a weapon? What is it?

A bow that only allows her to use it, and a similar arrow that always flies true (her aim still has to be accurate, but nothing supernatural, including barriers, can dissuade her arrow from its path.)

A knife that she does not often use, as she primarily keeps it for sentimental value. She will use it to finish off an opponent who she has a personal connection with, but usually relies on her other weapons.

She has used various demon swords in the past, but does not currently have any with her.

And of course her fangs and claws, which can be used as weapons when needed.

6. Describe their fighting style. Do they like to fight long ranged, close ranged, etc? Do they take more of an defensive stance or are they more on the offense? , they can’t be good at everything.

Aka usually prefers to hold back in combat and keep her distance until she has worn down her opponents. She’ll taunt them, and let them have the first move, in order to gauge their skills. Aka relies on her flames and her archery to stay in range combat, until her opponent is significantly weakened, at which point she will often get in close to deliver the finishing blow.

She’s very careful in combat, but if she thinks she’s likely to loose, she will transform into her demonic form, giving her additional strength and power. She can’t maintain this form for long though, and it takes her a while to recover after being in it for an extended period of time.

7. How do they react when fighting? Are like InuYasha just rushing in? Or do they think things through?

Aka is quick to lash out at people, and often provokes fights. She is always careful to observe her opponents before getting too close though, and thinks through fights as much as she can.

8. What tactics do they use in battle?

Aka prefers to hang back, and wear down her enemies before engaging in close quarters, and it’s very difficult to draw her in. She also likes letting other people do the work, so whenever she’s facing multiple opponents she will try to get them to fight one another.

9. What are their strengths when fighting? Are they a good runner?

Aka is extremely fast and agile, though her flames in combination with her barrier piercing arrow are her greatest advantage. She can outrun most opponents, and can keep going for a long time without getting worn down.

10. What weaknesses do they have when fighting? Do they easily run out of breathe?

Aka’s body is actually rather fragile for a demon. She has tried to compensate for this by training, but she still can’t take a punch that well. Because of this, she is rather reserved when fighting, and this can lead her to missing opportunities and dragging fights out longer than they should be.

To an extent water is also a weakness, as it can hamper her flames, though it is hardly even annoying to her when in her demonic form.

Her demonic form is also in and of itself a bit of of a weakness, because in particularly difficult situations she might be tempted to transform, which will leave her vulnerable later, and also much more impulsive.

11. How well do they handle the stress of battle? Do they panic easily?

Aka is very level headed in battle, and when someone manages to get her truly angry she gets quiet and comes in for close quarters. Occasionally she’ll even transform into her demonic form, but this can make her considerably more brash.

12. Tell us more about you how your OC copes in battle. Mention anything you feel is important to note.

Not much changes for Aka physically between her demonic and regular forms, but her flames become much more powerful, and she looses some of her reserve, becoming more willing to take hits.

She only keeps her one arrow on her, as she considers it too much work to carry around a full quiver. Her arrow can’t be summoned back immediately though, it takes about twice the amount of time between when the arrow left the bow and when it connected with the target. This seems like a rather short time, but it means that she can’t fire in rapid succession, and if her arrow breaks it takes time to mend it. Depending on how badly damaged the arrow is, it can take up to an hour for it to repair itself.
