So I just wanted to put up a few more things about writing a BATIM Fan-Fiction with a few more extra tips to help you get a good start that I've come Across while writing my own book: "Unperfect Portrait"

1: Do NOT replace in-game characters Roles.

We need to be honest, We've probably seen up to hundreds of writings where a Reader or OC was put in Henry's place, and basically steals his spotlight. That's a negative impact to you're story, there is no creativity to it, and that does NOT help you become a better writer! You had erased an important role from the original script and there is no ingenuity! It is literally just the game but with a character you used to replace Henry or any other various characters on it. But that's ONLY if you are basing it off the game's original storyline, if you are doing a different AU, not adding any extra characters of your own, or something completey different. No need to worry about this step!

2: What, When, Where, Why and How.

DETAIL! IS! REQUIRED!

That is EVERYTHING in good stories! You need to constantly question yourself as the Author to describe things as much as you can! You need to help the reader understand what is going on in your imagination, watch how you are translating it into your sentences.

Here's an example:

"The room was a horrifying sight."

...Where's the gusto in that? Why was the room horrifying? How does the Character feel about it? What makes it so bad? What room is it? Let's fix it!

"The Office was absolutely trashed; more than half of it had been stained and smeared with blotches of ink. Wooden boards where broken, torn papers and glass scattered across the floor where you stepped, the walls in no better condition; cracked with large holes busted in them. [Name] putting a hand over his/her mouth and practically wretching at the smell of the strong toxican that the black liquid left in the air."

So much better right? You made, not only your story longer, but made it so much more interesting.

3: Re-Read, Re-Write, Re-develop

What you should always do before publishing your book is to re-read it over, find mistakes, re-write a sentence or paragraph, construct it to make it fit with the scene better! One way is to have someone else Beta read it for you as your personal reader for them to clarify what mistakes there may be or if you sounded repetitive somewhere.

Don't want to re-read or have a beta-reader? I suggest getting grammar checks is always best! What I suggest and use is Grammarly and Thesaurus.com to help my writing if I don't feel like something doesn't make sense or sound right. This will help with your book's sense of construction and have lesser chance of mistakes. But you should still re-read over in case!

4: First Impression!

When you've sculpted the basis of your FanFiction, now we need to look into how you are going to introduce your book to an audience. The Cover and Bio!

Make the Bio sound like your book, but as a tiny cliff hanger, leave a question in it. Like "What would happen if they found out the truth?" It can be a bit cliche.

The Cover art may not be so easy for everyone. If you are an Artist, that's great! You can make you're own easily! Not an artist? Then I suggest it is either best to request/commission an artist to make on for you- but you MUST give them credit for it! What isn't yours is not for you to claim as your own! If there is a specific piece of art you want to use, Please ask the Artist if you can use it for your book, but you still must credit them if they say yes!

5: Take your time.

That's it. Just don't rush. Don't stress over it. Don't force yourself to write anything if you are not feeling up to it. It's as simple as that. Creativity takes time, it is something that cannot be quickened. Writer's block is a normal thing, but nobody is asking you to finish it when you are busy or have your own problems to be dealing with.

It's best that you enjoy doing your work

:revolving_hearts: If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask, I'd love to give you advice or help on anything :revolving_hearts:

Thank you for the feature ;0;
