hey, i’m Allie! I’ve had 5 male bettas, Aegon, Chip, Oz, Percy, and Pixie. I got my first betta, Aegon for my 17th birthday and he got a 6.8g aquarium. the next four came in fast succession after 1 1/2 years with Aegon

i’m trying a new overflow type sponge filter and i’m actually really liking it- it does help when the connecting valve works with the air pump

surprise new fish?
i swore to myself that i wouldn’t get another fish after chip died but moving out of college a few days ago brought on a lot of people leaving stuff behind… including a fish i named him pixie and he’s now set up in a quarantine tank

Chip ed last night from unknown causes. i got home a few days ago from school and did a big water change on his tank, it’s possible that triggered something. he was a very smart boy, even if he was a little blind. he was always so active and interactive every time someone stopped by to pay him...

temporary set up

chips tank after 2 months
i left chip in my mothers care while away at school. she has kept him healthy but the tank is a little different lol this what it looked like when i got home a few days ago and this is how i’m leaving it it’s not in its best condition but it will have to do for now

percy is easy company on long car rides and seemed completely comfortable the whole time he’s got his tank set up in the kitchen !

so i’ve packed up percy… he’s chilling in a cup rn with some indian almond leaves from his tank and will be spending the night in there until move-in tomorrow morning i got the water down as much as i could while still covering the gravel and it’s safely packed in a crate that will be sitting snug...

chip is happier!
i know this video may not seem like he’s happy but since i moved him from the 5.5 to the 10g he hasnt been glass surfing as much and when he does it’s only the whole length of the glass instead of back and forth. he just swims around peacefully for the most part. i guess that means he’s less stresse...
