ALLERGIES ARE CURSES THAT KILL YOU SLOWLY-

Allergies are a condition in which the immune system reacts abnormally to a foreign substance. So basically, something comes in with your body and yeets your immune system.

There are many types of allergies, such as drug allergy, food allergies, dermatitis, latex allergy, allergic asthma, seasonal allergies, animal allergy, anaphylaxis, and allergy to mold. I'm mainly focusing on seasonal allergies, because that's the type I'm suffering with ;-;

Seasonal allergies are an allergic response causing itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, and other similar symptoms. They are usually caused by pollen or exposure to any airborne substance.

Developing seasonal allergies is usually self-diagnosable, and symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and red, watery, and itchy eyes.

People may experience:

Pain areas: in the ear

Nasal: congestion, loss of smell, redness, runny nose, post-nasal drip, sneezing, or stuffy nose

Eyes: itchiness, puffy eyes, redness, or watery eyes

Respiratory: breathing through the mouth or wheezing

Also common: coughing, fatigue, headache, itching, phlegm, or throat irritation

And now I've been talking about allergies for far too long, so let's get into treatments :3

Self care

1. Avoid allergen

Staying away from triggers that can cause allergic reactions, such as pollen or certain foods. So basically become a hermit (as if you weren't one already).

2. Nasal washing

Pour a saltwater (saline) solution into one nostril. As it flows through your nasal cavity into the other nostril, it washes out mucus and allergens.

3. Warm rag/shower

Even a warm rag applied to the bridge of your nose or a warm shower or bath can help clear your sinuses.

Medication

1. Eye decongestant (eye drops)

Relieves redness and any irritation to the eyes. These are over the counter medication too, so you can pick some up at your nearest drug store!

2. Decongestant

Relieves nasal congestion, swelling, and sniffles. You can also pick this up at your local store.

3. Pills/tablets

You can also be prescribed medication for your seasonal allergies by your doctor, or there are some over the counter pills that you can buy.
