Piti here to bring you my entry to this week’s #TW6 theme, KPOP!

In this post, I will be combining all of the prompts - once again - into a masterpost! I was suddenly inspired by this one work of art that I saw and basically came up with pretty much everything the prompts were asking of us.

I’m am overachiever, sorry not sorry~

But anyways, on to the content!

ᑭᖇOᗰᑭT 1: ᗰEᗰᗷEᖇ ᑭᖇOᖴIᒪEᔕ

”U R Ice” consists of 13 , ranging from ages 17-28. They perform either as a whole or in separate subunits. These are their subunits:

Vocal SU: 서리 (Frost)

Hip Hop SU: 스케이터 (Skaterz)

Performance: 검은 얼음 (Black Ice)

Eros Fact: He was originally opposed to being the leader of U R Ice, but was encouraged by Vik to take on the role. His debut name was originally Yuri, but changed it to match the theme of his music style.

Vik Fact: Vik has been an idol since he was 16 years old. He was initially supposed to be U R Ice’s leader, but turned it down because he wanted a leader that would grow from being in that role, not just because he was the eldest.

Yurio Fact: Yurio was the second to last to the team. He’d only been training for a few months before the group’s debut, which indicates that he was already more than prepared to become an idol.

Beka Fact: Beka was kicked out of the house at 17 when his parents found out he wanted to become an idol. He lived on the streets for a year and lived off of his rapping. He later received shelter from JJ and his family.

JJ Fact: JJ’s father is a major CEO of U R Ice’s sister company, and JJ had meant to debut as a solo artist. However, he grew envious of his fellow trainees that were debuting as groups; he wanted to have that experience. His father opposed, but JJ left the company in the end to U R Ice.

Chris Fact: He was born into a classical arts family. His father and siblings played classical violin and his mother was a famous ballerina. He originally trained to be a ballet dancer, but he was scouted to the idol industry for his handsome features.

Sung-Lee Fact: Sung knows how to play five instruments; his plan was to be U R Ice’s co-composer and instrumentalist, until he was encouraged by Phi and JJ to the team as an official member.

Jie Fact: Jie wanted to be in TV dramas since he was a child, but ended up auditioning with childhood friend, Leo, for U R Ice. Jie chose his name because it means ‘hero’ in Chinese, and he’s adament on representing his home country with his music.

Leo Fact: Leo wanted to be a songwriter and a producer before training to become an idol. He still writes songs almost every week. In fact, most of the group’s songs were written and composed exclusively by Leo. He loves to collaborate with his fellow on songs.

Phi Fact: Phi was crowned as the most active Kpop artist on SNS. He runs the group’s twitter and organizes all the V-Lives and broadcasts the group airs for their fans.

Kenni Fact: Kenni was inspired to audition for the group when he heard and saw Eros perform at one of the company’s training sessions; Kenni was the last member to UR Ice. He still sees Eros as a major role model, and fans often see the younger latching onto his leader like a baby koala.

Mick Fact: Mick was originally supposed to debut as a duo act with his sister, Sara, at another company, but soon left after hearing allegations of his sister being harassed. Both siblings managed to get into the company, thanks to recommendations.

Geo Fact: He’s known Vik longer than any of the . In fact, he and Vik were the ‘founding ’ of U R Ice before the name was even thought out.

ᑭᖇOᗰᑭT 2: ᗰᐯ & ᗩᒪᗷᑌᗰ ᑕOᑎᑕEᑭT

The boys just released their album, “다음 레벨 (Next Level)”. The concept of this album is: A Gentleman’s Love. The songs talk of different forms of love, how it comes and goes, and how they accept love in their lives (not just in the romantic sense).

Their title track is “Adolescence”, which is accompanied by a music video. The video takes place in a white room garnished with red strings - resembling the strings of fate. All 13 wear suits.

If fans purchase the album physically, a hidden track is included. This track is titled “Watch Me,” which features a collaboration with well known female soloist, Ailee.

ᑭᖇOᗰᑭT 3: TᕼE ᖴᗩᑎᗪOᗰ

”U R Ice, 사랑해! U R Ice, We R Ice!”

U R Ice has a pretty strong fandom. Their fans devotly purchase their albums and all their merch. The have dubbed their fandom: “Icees”.

At concert venues and Kpop stores, Icees can purchase the group’s official lightstick: the “SnowLite”. It has five settings: White, White Blinking, Blue Fading, and Rainbow.

ᑭᖇOᗰᑭT 4: TᕼE ᑕOᒪᒪᗩᗷ

You may have seen that U R Ice has created a hidden title track in their album with a certain queen of Kpop.

You heard it folks, “Watch Me” is an exclusive collaboration between the 13 boys and Ailee herself.

”Watch Me,” is a song about desperate love; the story of the sin of lust corrupting poor souls. The song has a unique beat that picks up and slows down at an aesthetically pleasing pace. The beat almost has its own sex appeal. The MV shows off the boys in all white suits and Ailee in a beautiful short black dress. She is representing Lust as the boys constantly try to win her over and garner for her attention in the video. She entices them for the entire music video, truly earning the title of ‘Queen’.
