OC Challenge Day Four

My hometown is a smaller city on the coast of America. I’m fortunate that within a short drive I can see the beach, but in my hometown I am mostly surrounded by forests and farms when you enter where our homes are. I know it may sound strange to say I live in a city but surrounded by that, but we are known for our agriculture here.

It’s fun to watch the farms grow their crops through the spring and summer and get harvested in the fall. We have several farmer’s markets which is great to fresh vegetables and fruits grown in the local area. One of my favorite things to do in the spring is go to a local farm to pick strawberries!

I have always enjoyed watching the new buds blossoms in the trees in spring and the leaves change color in the fall. Sadly, I don’t get to see much snow. Humorous how someone who loves to ice skate lives in an area with very little snow. People always seem amazed when they learn I live in a coastal area rather than an area with lots of snow.

The most adventurous weather we get is Hurricanes and Nor’Easters where I am. Never fun to go through, but a part of our lives. Truthfully an amazing this to go through is a strong Hurricane which causes much destruction to then see that in the chaos of the aftermath, there is a peace as you see everyone around you come together to rebuild and help care for one another.
