:art: Hello everyone! Artevivo is back with another part of ArtTutor, this time by our lovely Nodame! :art:
Without further ado, let's go ahead and enjoy!

Greetings, everyone! previous mouse-drawing tutorial!
As you've seen in the previous tutorial, I've presented the tools you needed to use to draw your lineart. Unfortunately (or maybe, fortunately?) in this tutorial, you're required to have at least a minimum Paint Tool Sai knowledge. And so, you're free to use whatever tools you are most comfortable with, I'll be still giving the tools I personally use to color my pieces, but it does not mean you have to strictly follow it.
Let's begin!
Following the previous tutorial, you would be able to have a clean, nice lineart ready to be painted with vivid, energetic colors! (And if you're more in the dark timelines, you can bring melancholy and nostalgia to your art using the dark, dark colorschemes,,,whatever floats your boat,,,,,,,,)

Lineart ready! My host today is Yuri Plisetsky, again. Yay!
Now, add a bunch of new blank layers, then select your vector (lineart) layer. Focus with me here, because it's confusing at first. After you've chosen your colorscheme, grab the select tool (you can find it next to the eraser tool) and select the skin parts you want to color. It'll appear as a blue color at first, but the parts colored in blue mean that they're selected. Once you're sure that you're done, select the very first blank layer then select the bucket tool, or the crayon tool, really, whatever you want to use. Now that you've grabbed your tool, you'll notice that the blue part is gone and it is replaced with a selection. That's the goal! Now grab your mighty mouse and fill the selection with the skin color you want to use!
Repeat the action with the other parts, until your character is painted with the basic colors.

Base done! Now to the fun part (it's fun until your hand hurts because mouse art is hArD), shading! Now shading depends on your style, your colorscheme and the general tone you want your art to be. My technique for easier shading is to check the "Preserve Opacity" option in my base colors layers, you can find it right below the opacity column. Do that with EVERY base color layer. What this tool does is that it helps you shade your piece without spilling colors everywhere outside the colored area. Really useful!
Next in the box issssss... The shading itself! Take your darkest color and apply shadows using the water tool. Once that's done, you can use the (water 10) tool and the blur tool to adjust your shading. I won't tell you how, discover it yourself with your own style! ;D
Once you're done with everything, congratulations! You've shaded your piece!
*Note : Use references to learn shading techniques, especially hair and clothes! Keep your workspace clean, don't use too many stray layers, don't mess with your lineart unless you see some flaws! Use a green background to check the blank spots you didn't color!

You're almost done! You made sure the colors are well balanced and coherent! What's left now?
Yup!
The lineart is black, oops!
We can make the piece more coherent by coloring the lineart itself depending on the parts! For example, select your lineart layer (if it's still a vector, go to layer>pixellize) then check the preserve opacity. Take the darkest color you've used for the hair, not dark enough? darken it a bit more then color your lineart layer around the hair with that color using preferably the airbrush tool on a high density. Now that you're done with that, take the darkest color you used for the skin and draw over the lineart surrounding it. It's okay if it touched your hair coloring, it makes it look more flowy! :D
Continue to do the same with everything until you're done!

Congratulations! You're done with a basic artpiece! You can add a background, details, whatever you want! Be creative! (I wasn't with mine, oops.)

And now, you're finished for real! Go show your mouse art to everyone and flex on dem graphic tablet s! ;)
Additional notes: Don't forget to give the eyes a little glow to make your character look alive and expressive (unlike me).
Don't use the airbrush tool too much! No one looks like a blurred little fleshsack in real life! D:
If your hand cramps because mouse sUCKs, take a break! Don't overwork yourself!! (Unless you have a deadline go finish it asap u little procrastinator.)
That's it for this tutorial! Thank you for reading this far! :D
