Hello! My name is Lowig, here is my shot at this challenge. I seriously hope I win I worked really hard on this because it honestly look like a ton of fun. Plus it was helping me develop my OC, Mitsuda Akio, better with how he would interact with others owo.

because it is supposed to be about friendship and the amulet, I had to create a character for him to interact with XD. So his name is Ludwig Vos XP

The Drawing of Akio took me 7 hours. The drawing of Ludwig took me 3 hours.

I took creative liberty to put them in the same house and not traveling to one of their houses--

Knightly Encounters

it didnt struck me as odd at first. My friend has always been one of the strange ones. He was odd and a bit standoffish from time to time without anything really being the matter with him. Or at least, that was what I always thought..

During the duration of my week staying in one of my get away homes, in the City Lillestan, I had invite my said friend to stay with me. He quickly agreed like he did with everything.

Though what I didnt notice was the way he looked nervous all the time. He stood close to my side whenever we walked and anything that made too loud of a sound scared him. I didnt think about it, he was being odd like always but... His type of oddity wasnt what was happening. He was scared. I never seen him him frightened so I didn't ever try to console the shorter man.

I should have said something.

My friends name is Ludwig Vos. He is a good guy.. he helped me out a lot. He was very smart, a great blacksmith and inventor. He created my armor. He let me go to him when I needed him..

I failed to return that to him..

His disappearance wasnt something I expected. We were heading to bed, going to our separate rooms to gain some rest. The next morning he was gone. Clothes torn and the room in shambles. As much as I would have been angry about my house getting torn, the trail of blood was more important to me in that moment..

following the trail lead me to the forest behind my house. It was in a bit of clearing, trees circling around the area with rocks and weeds everywhere. The place overgrown. On the ground was Ludwigs ring, he never took it off. It was covered in dried blood and dirt.

I could feel anger consuming me. How dare someone hurt my friend.

next to his ring was an amulet.. it was odd. Purple and looked like an eye. It was attached to a necklace. I had never seen Ludwig wear necklaces or own such an item. It had no markings whatsoever like Ludwig's tattered ring did.

Picking up the damned amulet I glared at it. The gut feeling settled in my core. I knew this item had something to do with Ludwig and everything that was the matter.

I thought my friend had been taken. Or worse. Killed.

but then I hard a jagged cough. Comming from behind a bolder near the other side of the clearing. Quickly taking out my sword I held it in stance, swiftly making my way over to the gigantic rock.

jumping infront i was shocked to see Ludwig, he was definitely injured but the man he was holding in his lap was far worse off. Ludwig had a slash across his face, blood had caked over his pale skin and dried up. This event had happened a while ago.

" Ludwig! What the hell!? What happened?!" I yelled, dropping my sword and falling to my knees so check on the two on the ground." I-i was hoping I wouldnt have gotten injured so you wouldnt find out.." Ludwig whispered out, his voice in pain.

Checking the man he was holding was quickly discovered to be dead." Ludwig, did you kill this man? Why!" I had demanded as I pushed the corpse off my friend, helping him get up while also grabbing my sword to put it back in its rightful place. The pink haired man coughed as he put all his weight against me.

" i needed him..the amulet.... I had.. I have to stop him.." Ludwig said sluggishly, he was on the verge of pacing out. Looking him over he had been stabbed in his side and had multiple scrapes and cuts all over his weaken self.

it was hard to look at him. Ludwig was a good man. He wouldnt have killed without reason. If he could avoid it he would." Were going to go back to my house and your going to rest.. afterwards you better as all hell tell me what happened last night." I had said as I basically carried the other back home.

helping Ludwig has hard. I knew the man was tough, but... how he was alive was beyond me..

Ludwig had been stabbed 3 times. Cleaning and stitching him up was nauseating. I wrapped him up and sent him to sleep in the second spare room. The rest of my time was cleaning up the mess that was Ludwigs room from before this, unpleasant nightly encounter.

I couldnt help but think about the amulet.. why he killed a man over it. I would get my answered soon enough. I went to my own room, changing into more casual wear then the armor I usually put on.

Several hours later, Ludwig walked down stairs from his room. The man was supposed to be in bed, the damned fool. Though telling him to go back would be pointless since he was a stubborn man.

" you doing okay now?" I asked looking over at him." Did you by chance pick up the ring too?" Ludwig asked, not answering my question. I noticed he had the amulet wrapped around his neck. I never seen him wear it, had he always had it?

" oh. Yeah, here." I said pulling the ring out of my pants pockets, handing it over to him." I cant feel my face, but the medicine helped with the pain in my sides." Ludwig finally answered as be slid the ring over his bandaged hands.

" if we were back home, Lilian could heal you much quicker than the natural way." I commented making Ludwig groan in distaste." No way, shes too uptight." He said making me give him a look." I'm too uptigh, you like her. Besides that.. Ludwig. What happened? What's that amulet?" I asked making Ludwig look down at the damned item.

" this amulet is called Karekara." Ludwig said. rubbing the smooth surface of the eye like marbled crystal. " it can take you to the past or the present." Ludwig added. He was being serious, he had always had an obsession with odd artifacts.

" okay.. did you use it?" I asked and he shook his head." Yeah..." he sighed.

" To use Karekara.. you have to give up a life. The amulet is a give and take. The give is huge, what you take is reassurance." Ludwig mumbled.

" was it worth it. Taking a mans life to do something pointless?" I asked, feeling irritation build in me. There is a dead man in the forest. And it was because Ludwig wanted to look into the past or future..

" I had to make sure Aki! I havent been able to move on without knowing.." Ludwig said, his hand placed over the one with his ring. " what did you need to see?" I asked before glaring at him." Whatever it was better be worse than having a mans blood on your hands." I barked making him lean into the seat he had taken.

" Aki.. I had to make sure.. I had to make sure my family's death wasnt an accident. I needed to make sure that if it wasnt an accident... i would see who did it." Ludwig said looking at his hands sadly.

it was always something I pushed away from my mind. The fact both me and him had families that died. Mine I knew was an accident, his... no body knew for sure.

" was it an accident?" I asked watching the others face grow grim and dark, a look of disgust morphing on the visible part of his bandaged face.

" No. It wasnt."

I hope you liked ! I dunno about you but like, the main focus wasnt the amulet but the impact the power had on Akio's friend Ludwig.

I really hope you liked this I tried really hard on it and had a lot of fun writing it XD
