Writing Prompt: There is none. I was just really inspired to write something. So, I just wrote this. Hope you like it.
His eyes followed a figure. It was small and nearly enshrouded in the night. He knew that person is here for a 'job'. So, it was best to mind his own. He was about to do so, until he caught the sight of a ringlet. Escaping from the hood. It was red like fire.
He instantly knew who's under that hood.
"Red." He shouted. His voice was loud, not enough to pierce the active conversations and merry music in the pub, but it was enough to stop the figure. He willed his own shadow. Disappearing then quickly reappearing next to the figure.
It's useful. Common. But useful. Especially in his line of work. But it's especially useful to scare off Red. Back in their academy days.
The figure sighed. Slightly turning to his gaze. His heart squeezed. Her green eyes shined softly under the scattered moonlight. It was as beautiful in the night just as it was during the day.
"What do want Romulus?" The exasperation saturating her voice had made him smile. But it was gone swiftly due to her icy stare.
However, As quickly as it was gone, it was back again. This time, breaking into a grin. His boyish looks and smile was enough to melt down any icy exteriors. Or so Romulus thought until her face turned sour.
The time he spent in the academy and the outside world, didn't do much to his attitude. Red noted.
She clicked her tongue. "No."
Romulus rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on. Red, you know that I need the money -"
"No." She interjected coolly. It's the common used story. That he needs the money for his mother. Sisters and brothers that he left behind for his line of work.
It worked. Unfortunately.
For the first five times.
But, it changed when the 'mother, brothers and sisters' are actually the brothels in the Capitol. When she saw his figure entering the night houses, that was the first time Red cursed her bleeding heart.
"Reddd..." He whined. Snapping her attention to reality.
Red tried to ignore his pitiful excuse of a sad face. His exaggerations had always made her smile.
But not today.
She held off her laughter. No. Curt and cool. That's what needed to handle him.
"No."
