I was in my Spanish class when I heard the announcement. A Christmas Dance is happening this Friday and I have no one to go with. I was thinking I would go with my bestfriend Callie, but she's going with her boyfriend, Zach. Zach is sort of a player but she doesn't see that. I've seen him flirting with other girls countless times and I have told her but she thinks I'm jealous. Truth is.. I'm gay. I haven't told Callie because don't think she would accept me. But I don't know. So I'm telling her after school. As the day went on I was prepared for her reaction. So after school I asked if I could speak to her, alone. I stuttered at first but then I just blurt it out. I told her I'm gay. What came to my surprise, She was happy. She asked me who my crush is and I told her. It was Lucas. Lucas is the most attractive, kind, selfless person you could meet, And he's also gay. He has these brown eyes that in the sunlight they sparkle golden. He has wavy red hair and freckles. He is completely my type. So as me and Callie were walking home she said she would get Lucas to go with me to the Christmas Dance but I knew she was joking.
The week went on and Callie finally broke up with Zach because she saw him cheating with her own eyes.
I was delighted for her because I didn't want him to hurt my bestfriend. Then, Friday came. Me and Callie were getting ready for the dance as we both were going to go. She was excited and said she had a 'surprise' waiting for me. I was curious what it was. As we got to the school at 7pm we danced, drank some juice and sang along with the songs. We sat down at a table and talked for a while. Callie got a text and told me to wait where I was sitting. "Your surprise is coming!" She giggled in excitement. I was waiting for few minutes until I saw, him. Lucas. His smile was enough to brighten my day. He was coming towards me. I tried my best to keep my cool. He sat down next to me. I could feel that I was blushing and my heart racing. I looked up at Him, that glorious smile. His hair shining. His eyes sparkling. He asked me, "Would you like it dance?" I was astonished. Of course I said yes. We dance and dance until he said. "Merry Christmas Carter". His voice was mesmerising. I gladly said "Merry Christmas to you too" with a smile on my face.
We danced for the rest of the night. Laughing and singing. When the dance was finally over Lucas came up to me and asked if I'll be his. I kissed him and said "of course". This was Callie's surprise. I'm so lucky to have Callie as a bestfriend and Lucas as a boyfriend. I asked Lucas what made him come over to me. He laughed and said "I've had a massive crush on you for a long time." I blushed and the next second, Lucas's lips were pressing against mine. I kissed him back and smiled. "Merry Christmas".
The next day on Christmas, me and Callie were on a call and she said she cried through the whole experience. She said "Carter, you and Lucas were like in a movie. Romantic."
I laughed and heard the doorbell ring. "My boyfriends here Callie, Merry christmas".
