Challenge Spain

All right allot of information to go through before we get to my Decima.

In Galacia, Spain they drink a magic potion to ward off evil spirits during Dia de Brujas and Noite de Calacus.

This magical potion is a hot punch called Queimada.

According to an article in the The Local News the local.es

Written on October 31st2019 at 11:43 CET and in the same article a year later in October 2020.

A Decima

Is a Puerto Rican Poetry Form

10 lines 8 syllables per line

Rhyme scheme is ABBAACCDDC

Although this is a Puerto Rican version

Puerto Rico and other Latin American and Spanish people use this form. It is often song and improvised.

Espinela is the Spanish Form

This poetry form was invented by a spanish writer and singer named Vincente Espinel. Who also writes and performs Decimas, Decimista, and Deimeros.

In Ecuador it is a 44 line poem comprised of a Quatrain and four ten line stanzas this poem is like Glosa.

In Italy they have the Decima Italiana a 10 line 8 syllable lines that rhyme.

Queimada a hot punch

In Decima

Queimada is a hot punch.

Orujo mixed with fresh spices

Lemon peel, apple surfaces

Sugar and coffee beans from Brunch

Give it an old familiar crunch.

Boiled in old brown clay pots

Simmers over a blue flame, Hots!

Incantations said over

To ensure that only good will come over.

So no evil will come over spots.
