Wrestling News: WWE Releases Multiple Wrestlers!

Stretching from last night, mere hours before Friday Night SmackDown began, to this afternoon, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) began an unfortunate yearly occurrence which many Internet wrestling fans have dubbed "Black Friday," marking the mass release of office workers, backstage personnel, and, most notably, wrestlers.

Every mass release comes with a few surprises, and this year's was no exception. The released wrestlers are:

- Shayna Baszler

- Dakota Kai

- Braun Strowman

- Kayden Carter

- Katana Chance

- Gigi Dolin (NXT)

- Eddy Thorpe (NXT)

- Javier Bernal (Evolve)

- Oro Mensah (Evolve)

- Wolfgang (NXT)

- Mark Coffey (NXT)

- Joe Coffey (NXT)

- Cora Jade (NXT)

- Riley Osborne (Evolve)

- Javier Bernal (Evolve)

- Dani Palmer (Evolve)

- Shotzi* (NXT)

*Shotzi had her expire without renewal.

All main roster wrestlers have a 90-day wait period before making a TV appearance for a rival wrestling company. Wrestlers who were on their developmental contracts only have a 30-day wait period.
