According to current studies, the ocean will have more plastics than fish by 2050 and only 10% of plastics on earth actually get recycled.

Microplastics: Very small pieces of plastic that pollute the ocean. They're not a specific type of plastic but they still cause a lot of harm.

The 90% of plastics that aren't recycled are tossed out into our environment, most likely our ocean. Animals in our ocean are dying at a increasingly dangerous pace because we've created plastics. It takes hundreds of years for plastics and cans to fully decompose, meaning it has all the time in the world to harm our planet.

Plastic bags disrupt the environment by getting into soils and releasing toxic chemicals. They can soak into the soils and once an animal eats it they can and probably will choke to death and die. Globally, it is estimated that over 100 million marine animals are killed each year by plastic waste.

Whenever you can, don't use plastic bags and instead use reusable bags. Don't use plastic bottles or straws, instead use metal water bottle or rubber straws. We can make a change if we try and we can save the lives of billions of animals and even people!
