Do you think basic sign language should be taught in schools

I think it should be one of the choices in highschool. I don't necessarily believe it should be optional, and it also depends on what you mean by "basic"

I don't really think its needed, if someone is deaf you can simply write down what you have to say

I've wanted to learn sign language for a long time already, but I have nobody to practice with, so it wouldn't really work if I do it alone. So I personally would love the idea of the basics being taught at school, just in case I meet someone who is deaf, hard of hearing or just prefers it more than talking ^^
