As some of you are aware by now, Amino Apps are implementing a new change to how s pay for and use the Amino+ subscription.
Starting February 12th, 2025, Amino+ can no longer be purchased using amino coins.
As you can already expect, this has caused a lot of drama and uproar within the amino community, and the backlash can be seen throughout most platforms. Many s feel they are monetizing a dying app, and that not many people will be willing to pay for Amino+ since there are still plenty of other issues like bugs and glitches that still need to be fixed.
What does this mean for you?
Essentially, you will no longer have access to Amino+ features such as sending stickers, higher quality images, ing higher quality imaging (even though most s still can't images from Amino anyway), and more.
You can still access the shop, however prices are rumored to increase as a way for Amino to give s the option to spend their amino coins. This is just a rumor though, but it's important to be prepared.
We understand that this will be a difficult change for some people. Despite this just being an app, Amino+ was one of the best features in my opinion, and to monetize it instead of fixing current issues has caused a lot of backlash.
What can we do?
There are two things that s within the Amino hub have decided on, and are options available to anyone who wishes to participate. This isn't a guarantee to work, but it's important that you are aware of your options, and to know what other s within the Amino community are doing in an effort to have their voices heard.

On February 12th-15th, do not except for streaks.
2.
Give the app a low rating and explain your concerns with this new change.
Again, I'm sorry to anyone who wasn't aware of this change. I pulled these facts from one of the official aminos and the alert sent by TA themselves, but if I got anything wrong then please don't hesitate to let me know!

So, essentially going on strike? Hm
With as much respect as I can muster to anyone who is upset with these changes, please make an effort to understand the logic behind this change from the perspective of something like amino.
Ever since the Amino coin flood (largely perpetuated by coin farming bots) basically made the amino coin worthless, people basically stopped actually paying for amino plus, if they ever did to begin with. The market was flooded with coins and people including me had no reason to spend actual money on amino.
From what I understand, that is the reason that we lost the ability to turn off ads eventually..., and when that proved to not be enough, we are now losing the ability to get Amino Plus without paying for it.
This app hardly has enough money to maintain itself, fix its bugs, and add actual new features. And I'm not talking about silly chat bubbles either. Actual REAL new features.
The less money they get from people who are wanting to use their app, the worst things are going to get. And if they don't get worse they're definitely not going to get any better. This isn't a gigantic money hungry corporation. It's a starving broken app. I'll boycott greedy Google any day but little ol' Amino needs some cash.
Monetizing a broken app is messed up, but if you need money, where else are you going to get it? Submit your concerns if you want, but as someone who likes amino, I want people to be aware of the reality: things like this cost money to run.
This last ditch effort to bring in SOMETHING might be the last straw that breaks the app, but please try not to blame them for wanting and needing to be paid.
