Trigger warning: mention of su^c€de
Zachary Herron was a young, charming dark haired seventeen year old. He was always getting decent grades in school - despite most of the time not even studying and placing absolutely no effort in classes. Yet he miraculously still achieved some top grades. The male had found himself walking to school that morning. His birthday was in two days, meaning the scariest moment of his life was also approaching. He was getting a soulmate. Which he was no way happy about. The reason was because Zach didn't feel interested in girls. He had absolutely never - and you could ask his mother - had a female crush in his life. He never seemed to enjoy hearing his friends talking about it. Daniel and Jonah were okay with it. As was Corbyn, his closest friend, and Jack, who he had met the previous year.
TRIGGER WARNING
Daniel used to be his best friend. They were the closest, never been seen without the other. But things sadly seemed to change the moment he took his life two years ago. Nobody seemed to know why. But somehow Jonah seemed to have an idea. Because everytime it was mentioned he would act differently.
End of trigger
After Daniel, things had crashed down on Zach for the first few months. He missed his best friend. And Corbyn was there the whole time, encouraging him and always stood by his side. He was so grateful for him, because he knew that he was there and he was glad to have the faux blonde as his best friend. It would have been a lot harder, he would have felt alone.
There was a problem. He had began to develop feelings for the blonde male who saved his life from the pits of darkness. He was his rock since Daniel ed. Since he thought everything was crashing down of him, he pulled him out of the water before he could drown. And he was forever thankful. Yet never expected to fall in love with the male. And there was a big problem.
He couldn't be gay.
It was against the law to have a lover of the same gender. He didn't know why. But he knew that was the end for him. He would have to marry a girl, knowing it was the last thing he wanted. But he didn't want to know what would happen if he broke the law. He wondered how every other gay men or lesbian women managed to handle this situation.
He reached the school gates, green rusty doors that seemed like they could fall at any moment. Yet it was still standing, as it had been for a hundred and twenty years.
He noticed Corbyn walking towards him, Jonah and Jack right behind him. A smile reached on his face as Jonah hugged him, before ruffling his hair, causing him to shake his head a little.
"Zachy is finally growing up." He said, causing the male to let out a slight whine.
"I am already grown up thank you, Jon." He scoffed a little, but a smile cracked on his face.
"You're eighteen soon, how does it feel?" Chuckled Corbyn, pulling Zach from Jonah's grip, causing the male to smile softly, his cheeks tinged pink for a moment.
"Hah, you can't do that, your birthday wasn't that long ago either." He pouted softly, causing Corbyn to laugh. But Jack patted his back giving him a proud smile.
He chuckled as they walked inside again, heading to their classes. But something felt wrong. He noticed his teacher walk over, looking at Zach.
"Zachariah. Show me your ankle." Replied the tall, raven haired old man, looking at him with a stern expression. The small teen lowered his sock to show his teacher what he had asked to see. He must have forgotten that his birthday hadn't gone past yet.
"And please sir. Zachary. Or Zach. Zachariah is not-" he began, watching the teacher get out of the way, towards his desk. Zach sighed "my name." He muttered as he walked to his seat, sitting down beside Jack who gave him the thumbs up. He gave a small smile. This day would be hard. And he had to survive it.
