Title: Spells

Description: Sycamore was a baby caught up in the turmoil of war. Abandoned by her mother when the fey invaded their village, she was found by a young alchemist. Solstice brought the baby girl back to her family; the girl was taken in by the eldest sister, who had taken the role of mother after her parents were killed. Solstice gives Sycamore an egg – an Otho’s Griffin egg that would hatch and keep her little sister safe. This griffin, now named Xavea, will prove to be more valuable than Solstice could have ever imagined.

Twelve years later, Sycamore is attending Runora Academy when she discovers that she has a special gift that allows her to summon a huge, ghost-like spirit creature known as a waxraffe. With this new skill, Sycamore is launched on a rocky path towards being an illusionist in the war against the fey-folk. She must learn how to navigate her new life. Xavea, her friends, and family will be by her side the whole way as Sycamore endures painful lessons, betrayals, and a final experience on the frontlines of the war…
