~Blurb~
In a quiet village in Kent, thirteen-year-old misfits Jessica, Jaclyn, and Charles stick by each other in their final year of compulsory education. They have been very close friends for as long as any of them can and together they have endured a lot; from the good times to the hard times, and the occasional schoolyard bully or two.
So when run-ins with Nicolas Carter (the brutish, snobby, and inscrutable boy of whom they—and even their meanest tormentors—try well to avoid) seem almost inevitable for the trio, they will need each other's backs moreso than ever. The year has become a terrible struggle with the added burden of unsuccessfully evading the ill-tempered bully.
One fateful day, however, it would seem that the three friends can avoid Nicolas no longer when a river decides to take them to a place; a fantastical place of silvery forests and peculiar creatures, of mighty waterfalls and unique civilizations.
A place harbouring an old malevolence.
A place slowly wasting away, and a people in desperate need of a solution.
A world far beyond England,
far beyond Earth,
and far below the River.
~Content Warning~
Possible content/ trigger warnings include themes and instances of violence, pain, death, grief, emotional distress, and very mild (mostly old-fashioned) course language.
Woah... Seeing all these heavy themes in the one place like this makes it seem darker than it really is, but I assure you I try not to go too hard on all of these things, there is/ will be more lighter moments to balance it.
Target Age Range: Somewhere between Young Adult and New Adult (I'd reckon about 15+ on of the violence)
~Status~
Ongoing (first published April 02, 2018)
As you can see, I'm taking my sweet time :P, but rest assured, I will finish it one day, even if it's the last thing I do! XD
