Main uses
You'll never be late for anything. Ever. Being able to teleport is something I bet we've all wished we could do at some point. You can go anywhere just by thinking about it and can even bring things to you when you need them! In steady intervals, it can substitute for flying in the air. And teleporting other things is also an option, but with harder difficulty.
Dark side
This may not always be accurate. If a isn't careful, they may think they want to go out to the ocean but end up underwater.
It can take a lot out of the if they use it too much energy or go to far at once. There may be a delay time or recharge period if they travel too far. It’s even worse if the power is uncontrolled. And if used to much it may cause a distortion.
Described in writing
Now I've seen this in three different ways. First is in portals. The opens up a tear in fabric of space time to another place and can freely travel through it.
Next is instantaneous. This is when a teleporter can make things appear and disappear seemingly out of nowhere, or at least can't be seen with the naked eye.
Next is smoke (marvel universe) when the teleporter disappears or makes things appear in a cloud of smoke.
Sometimes teleports from other places can be seen as summons to those who don’t know about teleporting.
