Jobs continued! People liked the last one, so I thought it was time to get in another edition! So here a few more jobs to summarize!
🗡Knights🗡
We often see these portrayed as the brave hero’s that go rescue the princess from evil warlocks. It’s also portrayed that knights could be anyone who was just related to a noble. But there’s actually a lot more to it than that. Knighthood itself was no easy task back then. It’s something you actually had to go to school for and rank up in to be. And it was very heavily a holy thing. Lots of religious symbolism and practice goes into being a knight. Castles served as places to train and educate young squires to become knights. And kids don’t just randomly think “I wanna be a knight!” And then got to be one. These children were almost always taught from birth if they were going to be a knight. Their entire life would be filed by knighthood because it was something you were more or less born into if you were a noble or your father was a knight. And the knighthood ceremony was very intensive back then. You had to have a sword and shield blessed by a priest and then sit in prayer at the alter for like ten hours. And the vows they had to take were basically three things.
1. Don’t help traitors.
2. Respect all Wamen (no typo. Just trying to be funny.)
3. Go to church and make offerings.
Oh and tournaments and stories of legendary knight were a thing still. So THAT part is at least accurate.

:european_castle: Maids :european_castle:
My weakness.
....
Moving on-
Maids don’t always just clean and cook. There are some that also double as midwives and even help raise the children of the nobles. They’re basically the same as housewife, except you’re not married and all you have to do is pay her.
Wow, it sounds really bad when I say it like that.
Now it’s not unheard of for maids or butlers to secretly be bodyguards in movies and books. I personally love the idea of battle servants who can kill a man as well as bake the perfect cake. (Let’s be honest, they’re the dream spouse.) Now maids and butlers of this caliber will know the property they work on almost inside and out. They’re expected to look presentable in their work at all times. It’s a strikingly similar mentality as a solider. Just instead of ppl, they kill germs and empty stomachs. They work for people who can... well actually afford maids. So likely in very rich lavish areas and around some rather important and wealthy people. Can you cook a crazy good pie? Can you clean a marble floor so good it looks like a darn mirror when your done? Well heck, being a maid or butler for a rich noble might be the perfect gig! And they pay pretty well! But it’s hard labor still. I’d personally love more maid/ butler stories with really eccentric and fantastical masters. And just exploring their elaborate mysterious homes.

:gun: Gang Leaders :gun:
This was a requested one that I never really thought about until now. Some stories have gangs that act like mini empires in the underground or back ally’s of a city. Usually operating in black market practices to get their funding. But over all they’re businesses. Illegal ones, but businesses. It’s what separates them from say.... gangs who are less organized and fighting over things like who gets to use the basketball court. Real gangs are serious business. Quite literally. With LOTS of money involved. Any member runs the risk of dying for the sake of the group as a whole if they aren’t careful. This is why traitors are killed and many gangs run through families. Who better to trust right? But even so, the leaders are almost always in a power struggle with other high ranking . The leader has to know their stuff and always have something that makes them the head honcho. Power, status, loyalty, etc. all of this stuff is critical to being a gang leader for an extended period of time. And with loyalty that means you have to be willing to compromise and do favors for people who can help your group. Even if you may not like it. There’s too much at risk.
Gangs usually have eyes and ears everywhere. Big units like that have to have good communication to survive. So there’s always going to be a steady stream of information going in and out of these types of organizations. And let’s not forget that authorizes are always a problem if you don’t pay some of them off to let the grunts do crimes. There’s always SOMEONE after them. Even other rival gang who want a slice of the pie. So the gang has to be smart and act two steps ahead to stay in the game!

And that’s the second list of titles! Hopefully this was helpful to you all. If there are any specific titles you want to be in the next one, feel free to post in the comments any ideas you may have and I’ll be sure to look into them! Until next time, see you some fellow adventurers!
