So I made a poll, this.
I asked the question what is your least favorite genre? I asked for people to write why they didn't like that genre in the comments.
I did get some but not a lot so I'm making this to ask a similar question.
Why do people dislike genres 🤔?
So I want your opinions on the matter!
Write below!

I like all genres if they have a good storyline. But in anime, my least favorite is mecha. @^@ just never get into them.
I usually don't like Horror, One-Shots, and Non-Fiction because of this:
Horror: I usually only have free time at night. I'm somebody who can feel things like ghosts. When I go to try and read horror stories, I feel like the ghost of the house are near me. Even though she hasn't tried to hurt me yet, I just get really cautious, and I can't sleep... so I don't function as well in the day as I want to, and it makes me sleep during most of the night, which messes with my balance. (I know. My sleep schedule is unhealthy. But hey, i can't help it. XD)
However. If I do get free time during the day, and I see a horror story next to be, you can be sure that I'm gonna read it. XD
One shots: Mainly because I hate it when there's a really good chapter, good enough that more chapters wouldn't ruin it, and I find out that it's a one shot. There was this Miraculous Ladybug Marichat one shot I adored. I checked up on it every day. Then, one day, I looked at the stats, AND FOUND IT WAS A ONE SHOT. .-.
Same thing happened a few days later with a Shugo Chara! Amuto one shot. XD
Non-fiction: I usually, really don't like those. From most of the ones that I've seen, they've always been too boring to finish.
I love Western books, though.
"What does that have to do with Non Fiction?"
Because, usually, Western Books don't have unusual things in them (like... a half coyote and have human secretly being a ranger). At least, the ones I read don't. They're a mix between Christian-Fiction, Non Fiction, and Mystery. XD
(Not full blown Christian, though. XD)
...... NOW I REALLY WANNA READ A BOOK WITH A RANGER WHO'S SECRETLY HALF COYOTE AND HALF HUMAN.
SOMEBODY, PLEASE MAKE THAT FOR ME. XD
Or maybe I'll write one... 🤔
XD
But that's my explanation on why I don't like certain genres. Lol
Sorry if it's WAY too long to read! Honestly I think the genre that they love is somehow reflected onto their personality or one that somehow fits with their personality.
Like how friends can be complete polar opposites, like Aang and Sokka(from the show the last airbender). Sokka is more focused on safety and having fun at times. Aang is more care-free, I mean he's been trapped in a ice-bubble for almost(I think)100 years! Aang and Sokka both obviously seem like polar opposites but, they might have more in common than they think.
Oooo! Very interesting idea! I appreciate your 🤗!

No problem!
It's the reader's taste, honestly. For me, I love horror, Sci fi, etc,
But NOT supernatural
I can't picture these things happening as I can when I read the Hunger Games or divergent series (vs... Twighlight, maybe)
I dont really have any genres I dislike. Maybe some I prefer more, but none I dislike.
I really like romance, but I know some people wouldn’t like it because it is sometimes cheesy xD
