How important are trigger warnings? Why should I use them? What purpose do they serve? What topics should they get used on? Where should I put the trigger warning?
Trigger warnings allows the reader to know if they should be careful while reading this. After all, you don't know which reader is going through something tough. Trigger warnings may bring a reader back to that place that they're trying to escape from.
Trigger warnings are usually put on topics that are sensitive. Topics that deal with suicide, eating disorders, depression, self-harm, etc...
Trigger warnings are usually placed in the description of the story, beginning of the chapter, and/or before the section starts. It's really up to you, but if it's in the description the reader will know what to expect and it won't be a surprise later on.
