She Tastes Like Mercury-[C]Trigger Warning: drinking, mention of drugs, unhealthy relationships, blood, toxic mentality

She smells like roses, but she tastes like mercury.

The longer I’m with her, the more I lose my sanity.

She’s my dream and nightmare wrapped in one.

She makes me feel alive, but it hurts to breathe.

She holds me tight, and her fingernails feel like razors in my lungs.

I’m hooked on her, it’ll never be enough.

She makes my heart beat, but my blood turns to lead with every touch.

The rush of dopamine, overdosing on the endorphins.

She’s like a drug I can’t stop taking.

An addiction that can’t be beat.

She smells like roses, but she tastes like mercury.

It lingers even as she leaves.

Does insanity take a form?

Surely, it would be she.

The flash of brilliant lights glow in her eyes.

Embers, ash, and smoke that dance higher and higher evermore.

She’s right beside me, but her heart beats in stars.

I chase her endlessly, grasping at a memory.

She never stops, she never slows, she never takes a moment to breathe.

Life is nothing but a flicker compared to her energy.

She smells like roses, but she tastes like mercury.

The colors dive and curl dizzyingly.

Stumbling like a drunk as she smiles at me.

She’s alive in an unreachable way, but around her the world stops spinning.

Liquor runs like water, too much, never enough.

Nothing left but the desperate need to catch up.

I need her, but she doesn’t need me.

The truth runs like ink, staining naivety.

It’s not healthy, this game we play, but it’s addicting.

Living is easier when you have a reason to be.

She smells like roses, but tastes like mercury.

The poison spreads like acid, it burns viciously.

It feels as if nothing will be left but an open flame flickering.

Possibility beyond what we understand, makes it worth it in the end.

This can only end in tears, it isn’t something we can wish away.

Why don’t we run?

Maybe we’re already gone, nothing but a soundless whisper left to rot.

We’re bound to insanity, a shared fate kissed with poisoned lips.

In a way, that might be the very reason we stay.

Butterfly wings tear apart, and the cycle remains.

She smells like roses, but she tastes like mercury.

Nothing but mania left to tear apart the broken mind.

Down a tunnel of insanity we go.

Smile a bloody grin, red smudged on your lips.

Why fight for order in a society of chaos?

Embrace insanity like a lifelong companion.

I can’t live without her, she’s my beginning and end.

She smells like roses, they rot and fester but follow even as she fades.

She tastes like mercury, the sensation of liquid insanity.

I need her, even if she never needed me.
