Mythology Club - March Assignments

Saori here with the March monthly assignments for the Mythology Club! Sorry I took so long to get these out. Club if you need extensions for the assignments because of this then please feel free to ask!

Basically how this works, is that at the beginning of each month, I will release four different options for assignments based off of the mythology that is the theme for that month.

All the of the club are required to complete at least two of these four assignments. It doesn’t matter which of the two you do, so go ahead and pick the ones that you like the most!

These challenges are open to the rest of the community, so feel free to participate if you’d like to!

Assignment Choices

Number 1

Create an infographic of sorts about the chosen mythology. This could be anything from a family tree of the gods and goddesses, a list of mythical creatures, a summary of the creation story (every mythology has one), summaries of at least two of the main gods or goddesses, etc. This can be done either with writing, an edit, or a drawing!

Number 2

Change the outcome of any of the myths in Norse mythology. You can depict this through writing and compare and contrast the original myth versus your new myth. Or you can draw a picture that represents this new myth!

Number 3

Create your own god, goddess or mythical being that would fit in with the existing ones in this mythology. Your creation could literally be in charge of anything as long as it’s not already under the jurisdiction of the existing deities and mythical beings.

Number 4

Pick two gods or goddesses from Norse mythology and compare and contrast them to two gods or goddesses from either Greek or Japanese mythology. This can be done in writing or by drawing pictures.

• You can combine your two assignments into one blog if you’d like, but I’d prefer separate ones

• If you have another idea that you aren’t sure if it fits underneath the assignment criteria, don’t be afraid to ask me about it. I’m a pretty flexible person and I want people to have fun with these assignments.

• You have until the end of the month to complete your assignments

• The top two with the best entries will receive a prize at the end of the month!
