I woke up, sun shining on the bed through the window, the world outside white with snow. I got up, covering the sun from my eyes. Walking out of the room, I smile seeing Jinyoung sitting on the couch watching while finishing breakfast. I'm gonna guess he saw me, because he smiled. "Hey," he said, and walked over, putting an arm over my shoulders and walking around. "I was wondering if you are ever going to put your Christmas tree up?" Jinyoung asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know... I may soon," I sighed. "It's just hard to do alone." He raised his eyebrows, and grinned and removed his arm, patting me on the back. "And that," Jinyoung started, "is why I'm here! I helped Jaebum, so I can help you too." I laughed. Gosh, this guy is so weird... but this guy is my friend for a reason.

We both went downstairs, where the tree was, boxed up and ready to be put together. We both lifted it, and got up the stairs, somehow fine. Unboxing it, we put the stand up and got it all ready. "I'll go change and possibly get music. You get the actual decorations like the ornaments and stuff." I gave orders, and Jinyoung nodded to me. We both took opposite directions, and I changed as he ran back downstairs to get the decorations. This would be something.

We both got back upstairs, as we grabbed pieces of the Christmas tree, luckily labeled, and danced around putting it together as multiple songs played. After putting it all together, we started opening the decoration box and taking things out. "We should sort this all out in like size groups!" Jinyoung suggested. I shook my head no.

"By color would be better. So we don't get the sizes confused." I suggested, and he looked at me like I was insane. "But it would be tacky if we put one small red, one medium red, and one big red all next to each other," he argued, "so we should do by size."

"But 3 reds in general look bad next to each other so there!" I said with a bit of a matter-of-factly voice, and crossed my arms and he went behind me and hugged me. "I'm sorry, how about we do both? Size and color?" He suggested. I laughed and turned and hugged him back. "Cool with me."

We then went back to decorating, and next we had to put up the lights. I plugged them in, and Jinyoung cleared his throat. "Yes?" I ask as I untangle them. Looking over out of the corner of my eye, he has this small cute evil grin, and I was scared for a minute about what he was thinking.

"Lets race and see who can put the lights up faster, but also who can not knock down the tree!" He kept the evil grin, and I replied, "Are you insane?" I paused. "Let's do it!" I couldn't help but smile at him.

The Christmas Eve has arrived and so is Jinyoung who enters my house without even knocking on the door. "Merry Christmas!" He greets as he drops his back pack on the floor. He hurriedly goes to the kitchen as I'm currently taking out the Christmas cookies from the oven. "Smells good." He compliments as he pats my head. "But it better taste good." He adds to annoy me. "Of course, it is!" I scoff and we both giggled. "Are these the things I asked you to buy?" Jinyoung asks as he unpacks the bags of groceries on my counter. "Yup. The chicken is in the fridge." I answer. "I wonder what will be your dish this year." I add as I take off my apron and hand it to him. Jinyoung surprises me every Christmas with exquisite delicacies. He knows I love to eat, so he spoils me. "Oh. You'll love it for sure." He replies as he wears the apron and ready himself to cook.

Jinyoung took out the chicken from the fridge and let it thaw. He then preheated the oven while melting the butter into it. Next, he cut a lemon into half and squeezed it to collect the juice. After that, he minced some garlic and put it in a small cup. Jinyoung combined the melted butter, lemon and white wine together and then rubs it all over the chicken. "Ohhh. Looks delicious." Jinyoung smiles at my compliment. "You must eat it all because I'm working hard for you." He says.

He continues to prepare the chicken. He seasoned the chicken with salt and garlic then rubs the minced garlic all over it as well. After that, he stuffed it with garlic head, rosemary and the squeezed lemon halve. Lastly, he puts it inside the oven to be cooked. I then march my way to my living room and lay on my couch. While Jinyoung cooks mashed potatoes. "Hey. Aren't you going to help me here?" He asks. I was too tired because I woke early to do my last minute Christmas shopping, so I just shook my head at Jinyoung. "Too tired." I add.

Jinyoung then s me on the coach. He seats at the other end and places my feet on his lap. "You must be cooking." I say. "The recipe says I have to leave the potato in the boiling water for 15 minutes." He says as I give him a thumbs up as an approval. Jinyoung them smirks at me and the next thing I knew a pillow hit my face. "Aw. That hurts!" I shouted as I throw the pillow back at him. "Oops! Sorry." He apologized as he catched the pillow perfectly. He hugs the pillow and squeezed himself in the small space of my couch to lay beside me. "We won't fit. You're too fat!" I shout at him. "Says by someone who eats like there is no tomorrow." He replies as he pull me into a hug. "Eww, Jinyoungie. Don't touch me."

We've been celebrating Christmas since we were little kids. Our dads are bestfriends, so our family used to celebrate the holiday together. But now, it's just the two of us. "Y/N, don't get into a relationship next year. I don't want to celebrate Christmas with plus one." Jinyoung demanded. "Oh, says someone who brought a plus one two years ago." I say as I turn to look at him. My eyes met Jinyoung's teary eyes. "Are you okay, Jinyoung?" I ask as I cup his left cheek with my right hand. And he nods as a reply. Suddenly, a noise of splatting boiling water was heard from the kitchen. "Gonna get the potatoes." Jinyoung said as he quickly got up to the kitchen. He then prepared our dinner and placed the roasted chicken on the middle of the table then eventually cut it into pieces. He then sat opposite to mine.

We started munching on our food and had a little chat. We talked about the unforgettable memories, more like embarrassing moments we had in the past. As we finished our dinner, we decided to do our yearly exchange gift. Initially, we didn't want to do it this year but we ended up buying each other gifts as if it is already in our body system to do so. "Here you go. Hope you like it." I say as I hand him the box wrapped in gold paper with red ribbon. "Oh. I wonder what you got me." He says as he shakes the gift then unwraps it revealing a leather bound journal.

"I thought of giving you a book but I might get you one you have already read." I say as I sip in the glass of wine. "Do you like it?" I ask. Jinyoung then mocks me by acting disappointed with my gift. "What would I do with this?" He backlash. "Really, boy?" I reply annoyed. "You're mad already. I'm just kidding. I love it." He says as he gives me a wink. "Here's your gift." Jinyoung throws a small box to me and good thing I was a good catcher back in high school. I opened the tiny red box and inside it is a gold necklace with bird shaped pendant. "Oh god. It's so beautiful." I'm so amazed by the beauty of the necklace. Jinyoung always gives the best gift. But this one must be the most beautiful of them all. "Let me help you with it." Jinyoung says as he take the necklace from my hand and wear it to me. "Looks good on you." He says and sits on his chair again. "Thank you, Jinyoung." I smile.

"Y/N." Jinyoung calls. I look at him confuse. "Promise me you'll celebrate every Christmas with me." He wish and I'm nod to agree. "Of course, we will celebrate every Christmas together." I say with confidence even if I know one day we will celebrate it separately. "You're the only family I have." He says looking straight in my eyes. For now, we are each other family. We are each others strength. We have each other for everything. "Merry Christmas, Jinyoung." I say as raise the glass of wine. "Merry Christmas, Y/N."
