hey there wa! so a lot of you might

already know what's the what around

here, but we do have quite a few new

who might have a few

questions about things to do around

here, or how things work. if you're an

older member, just treat this as a bit

of a refresher.

so what is the difference between WA

and Wattpad?

wattpad amino is a standalone

community that has no affiliation with

wattpad itself. we are based off of the

app, but everything we do here is all our

own. we just accept more promotions of

your wattpad books here.

you might be asking how different

posts work around here. well, there's

blogs and wikis. blogs are your base

text and image posts everyone knows

how to put together. wikis however, may

be a bit trickier to manage.

what's so special about wikis?

we treat wikis like they're our library

books. you can use them to record

your ocs or make a profile for your

book.

one of the most important things to utilize

is submitting your wiki to the library so it

can be catalogued and immortalized for

everyone to check out.

submitting wikis is easy. all you need is to

create one, fill it out and publish it. afterward,

click on the three dots at the top right corner

and select the 'submit to wiki' button. from

there, a staff member will either approve or

deny the wiki.

what's so special about posts?

aside from basic post craft, anyone can

look at another's post and see what makes

it popular enough to gain likes. most posts

can make it with a few sentences, but if you

want to make a spot on the feature page,

take a close look at this post on

how to get featured.

the one thing that many of you should know

is what kind of content can be in posts.

we allow writing of all kinds here on WA.

anything from original works, to fanfiction,

and even promotions of your wattpad books

to book reviews. as long as they are properly

tagged with trigger warnings according to

the content in your post.

however, we do not allow smut or explicit

sexual content to be posted on this amino.

implied content is subject to review, and may

be disabled if it is too borderline.

if your post is disabled for any reason, a staff

member will message you with the reasoning

it was taken down. Unless it is completely

violating community guidelines, we will allow

you the chance to edit it to get re-enabled.

so aside from blogs you might be

wondering what else there really is

here to do. well, a few things we have

are challenges and chats. we used to

have a little bit more with clubs, but

they are something we are looking

into for the future.

how do chats work around here?

chats are the same for every amino,

they are completely up to

to create and give you the opportunity

to share some of your works or your

daily life with other . you'll

see a few of our outstanding active

ones featured on the main feed or

in the publishing contract of the main

tabs.

during events we may have a chat

made to discuss your plans on your

work and get ideas from others on

how to start on them if you're stuck.

all chats are still under moderation by

the staff team and still have to follow

community guidelines so take care not

to post anything inappropriate or spam

chats. usually we count spam as over

5 messages from a single in a row,

but depending the staff team will be a

bit more lenient.

are there any important chats?

as an amino we do have several ways of

communicating important things to you

all like broadcasts or posts like this one.

but we do like to have a real time way of

getting news to you that won't get outdated

too quickly.

firstly is out ongoing challenges

chat where staff will post up the latest

challenge for you all to check out.

in the past we also had club leaders also

post their club's newest event and such

and sometimes even staff approved

member challenges can go in there.

next up is our advertising chat where

all of you are able to post up your wattpad

work for all to check out. Include any

details like genre, length, completion,

or put a full on description in there. But

please note the chat is only for such

links, no conversations allowed.

thirdly is our welcome chat. any and

all new can up in here and

get a warm welcome to the community.

if you have any base questions, they can

be answered there, or just use the place

to make new friends in general.

and lastly, although it has been a little

silent, we do have a chat where you can

suggest a post to be featured.

post up your links or links to others' works

on the amino that you believe to be feature

worthy and the staff will take a peek at

it. usually we'll find great works on the

latest feed, but a few might escape our

notice.
