Blueberry Eyes

Hey everyone’-

This week Art Club’s #ACsongs prompt is “Blueberry Eyes” by MAX.

Nowwwww Max has been one of my favourite artists since forever (oke not forever cause that’s impossible, but I’ve been a fan of his music for around 8 years now 🤭). I was waiting SO LONG for his new album Color Vision to come out and it finally is <3.

Now, of course, I couldn’t resist making something for this prompt, so here you go!

Blueberry Eyes is a collab with Suga from BTS. Suga’s part are actually MAX’ wedding vows, and since I love the text so much, I couldn’t resist adding it to the drawing.

The lyrics go:

Translation:

A ray of light cutting through my shadow

You flipped my life that had been dark

Maybe I’m nothing

Before I met you, I was nobody

I used to mean so little, my life before you was

Only hurrying through the day, yeah

Our days, our nights, okay, our lives

U-A-R-E-M-Y light, friends who each other, each other’s anchor

I tried making my drawing a little literal by the first shot having a black background, because as he says in the song: “You flipped my life that had been dark”. And then lighting up the background behind him. The final shot where they touch hands has a purple background because of the colour his live has gotten + a small reference to ARMY/BTS.

The one thing I don’t really like is the placement of the text. I tried a lot of different ways and in the end ended up with this one. I wish it would have looked a little prettier :weary: .
