The name Hatsune Miku itself comes from Japanese which means first (初 hatsu), sound (音 ne), and future. The sound of Miku (ミ ク) itself is a way of reading the special kanji of the name of Mirai (未来). [1] When these words are combined literally, it means to be "The First Voice of the Future". It also shows that Hatsune Miku is the first singer of a series of "Character Vocal Series" custom singers produced by Crypton Future Media. Miku's voice was taken from the voice of Saki Fujita (藤田 咲 Fujita Saki), a voice actor from Japan. Hatsune Miku also appears as a holographic projection on several concert stages, like a real singer.
