Okay so I saw a post a while back saying that a fanloid is a persons characters but without the voice. I'm a bit cunfuzzled. They also said unless you give them a voice they'll be considered a utau...? If I'm wrong, please correct me.

They are way different, Fanloid are practically vocaloids Oc's most with no voice and some with vocaloid altered voices (more like pitchloids but whatever), Utau's have own voices, the main difference between them is that utau's are better accepted than fanloids in the fandom, usually people dont care to much about fanloids cuz fanloids dont have any function more than expressing the owners ideas and stuff, which is good (#OC's). In the other side people tend to like utaus cuz they can use them and make originals, covers etc. Im not saying having a fanloid is bad but a big number of fanloids are cringy like you see alot of mary sue's, recolors and cringy stuff more than in the utau side, where you can find better voices than vocaloids (ejem, Yamine Renri, Kohaku Merry, Namine Ritsu etc etc) and super interesting designs (Darling for say someone), and the best of all they actually do something! (I hope fanloid owners dont get mad at me, just my point of view)

UTAU is a free program you can create your own voicebank with. Any character with a voice usable in that program is an UTAU.

An fanloid is like... a fan Vocaloid or derivative, but they either don’t have a voice or just have the voice of an existing Vocaloid but edited.

basically, if they don't have an utau vb, it's a fanloid
