Album Releases

Tomorrow, the new E.P "MIXedJUICE" by SHOKUBAI PHANTOM GIRL will be released. It will be featuring 8 songs that are sung by Gumi, and another one that is sung by IA. 2 of those songs are also remixes, so it isn't only originals. That isn't a bad thing though, both of them are good remixes and the originals are also good! If you're interested in new songs, IA or Gumi, please listen to this album when it comes out! The Platonic Love EP, which was made by the producer PLAMA, was released earlier this week. It has songs that feature Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len and Yuzuki Yukari. It's a dubstep album, and PLASMA managed to make all of the songs extremely high quality and suit the Vocaloids used. It can be purchased on Bandcamp and Booth for 600 Yen. New Cevio

Earlier this week, the new Cevio Haruoroido Minami was announced. It is completely free, but you have to have access to the Cevio editor to be able to use him. You can find the official link [right here!http://www.teichiku.co.jp/teichiku/artist/hal-o-roid/] According to his bio, he is 37.3 years old, 173.73cm tall, 63.73kg and has a voice range suited from A2~E4. This makes him older than most singing synthesiser avatars and voices.

The voice is designed to be a "revival" of singer Haryo Minami, who died all the way back in 2001 due to prostate cancer. He was an enka singer, but his music was widely referred to as a pop singer during much of his career due to the work "enka" not existing when he first became popular. An example of his hits include Tokyo Gorin Ondo, the theme song of the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo.

First Impressions

A trend this week was asking for first impressions from s! It was a very fun event where s commented their first impressions, thoughts and often funny comments. Lots of people ed this trend and it was fun reading all the comments :3

Hello readers of Triginta Novem! yenmi!

Yenmi- Hello! It's an honor to be here!

Vocalmon- For my first question, I would like to ask, what introduced you to vocaloid? A basic question, but still interesting. For example, the first vocaloid you listened to.

Y- The first vocaloid I listened to was MEIKO, and KAITO in the song Tsugai Kogarashi! Thanks to an artist that shared their art on tumblr, I was really interested and I started to love it!

V- Tumblr is quite different compared to mine. I was introduced to the song Senbonzakura from a cover by Lindsey Stirling :blush:

For my next question, assuming Meiko is your favorite vocaloid, what qualities do you ire about her? Her design? Voice?

Y- Thats nice too! and about MEIKO, it's a bit different, I like her voice a lot and she was the first character I drew, thanks to her simple design I started drawing, and thats why I really like her, it's a bit difficult to explain :wink:

V- Interesting story! So if you never saw Meiko, perhaps we would have never been blessed by your art right? Only joking...I think.

Your first cover was posted on youtube 4 years ago (Love is War ft. SeeU). Through your years of experience with voice synthesizers, what aspects do you believe you have improved in? Perhaps mixing and implementing pitch bends?

Y- That cover was made by a friend and  we were using the same channel! My first cover was with V1. I don't think I've improved that much, the first vocaloid I got was KAITOv3 and since then, using vocaloid has been funny! I discovered my kind of songs is fast, loud and happy ^^

for that time I was 12 years old ^^

V- Don't be so modest! Your recent covers are divine! You use Meiko v3 very well ^-^ 12 years old is pretty damn impressive!

Moving on to the topic of utau, out of all the utaus you have released, which one is your favourite? Were there any difficulties making them like oto ini, design, or recording?

Y- My UTAU, I think it's Ami, because she has my main voice and she was my first original character! but I also love BAI-F0, because the design is s goat and they are very funny. the most difficult part...I think...the recording, I never had enough time to record full banks.

V- Do you plan on releasing anymore utau? Updates, maybe? They all sound amazing~

Y- I do! but I must do their artworks, now they sound realistic , I'm doing my best to work again with them! and thank you so much :blush:

V- No problem! You don't get the attention you deserve so hopefully this interview gives you some exposure!

Moving on to your art, I am in awe by how divine it is! If I may ask, how did you develop you art style?

Y- thank you so much ;; that means a lot....

About my art, I don't really know, I think I did it based on my favourite illustrators!, like, they all have been my inspiration ^^

V- Who are some of you favorites? Do you get inspiration from official vocaloid artists? Your Meiko v4 fan design makes suspicious that you're an artist for Crypton…

Y- My inspiration are artists like WeiWang(not related to vocaloid), Ryllen,KEI and Suzunosuke!

and hahaha I love Ixima's style, and thats why I tried to do something with it!

V- Good choices!

For my last question, are there any other types of content you would like to on youtube, soundcloud, or any social media in general? Blogs on VA perhaps?

Y- m..maybe speedpaints, I've been thinking about that a lot, and also original music! I can compose too!
