small note

I haven’t been feeling that great about my art recently :l I’ve really been trying to make something nice but I just can’t, and I get frustrated about it and I start doubting myself.

I’ve been trying to learn new things about art for this past year and what I want to do with it now that could benefit my art style in the future, but it all frustrates me. I’m happy that I at least improved somewhat since February when I ed VA.

However, I’m really sad because I love Mirai, but she’s pretty hard to draw and color- and same with almost every other loid besides rikka

Idk, I felt very sad earlier because I didn’t know what to do, and I kept forcing myself to come up with something- but I kept disappointing myself

Plus, I have a few other things that added to my disappointment but it’s alright

But I really wanted to do something special for December :(

I was planning on making another small loid coin commission event like what I did for Halloween, but Christmas-themed instead.. but I felt like I wouldn’t do good enough and I’m so stressed out about art so I backed out on that plan

I’m motivated to do better though, and stop being a lump of mush since:

positive vibes only :sparkles: :ok_hand:

Basically, I’m disappointed because I know I could do better if I just try hard enough and put in as much effort into learning as I could, I just need to rest for a little bit..

It's ok also to not improve! (Not that I think you don't, just a general statement) I know it sounds counter intuitive, but the society we live with made us believe that everything we're good at has to be monetized and good enough to be monetized... That puts a lot of pressure on people to push themselves to excel in things to the point where the hobby is no longer enjoyable or a hobby. So, basically, you don't have to force yourself to improve that much if that stresses you out! ^^ You are already good enough the way you are :3 Of course, if you want to improve for your own reasons, that's valid too, just saying you don't have to do it if it makes you stressed out and sucks the fun out of your hobby ^^

i think your art is really cute and it's great that you have the motivation to improve, just go without pressure with that and rest as long as you need :revolving_hearts: :revolving_hearts:

Hey it's more than okay to take a break from anything! Even when your art is awesome already, you can always improve, if that's what you wish to do. No one's pressuring you to draw. Take as much time as you need, to clear your mind and to take a good rest, there's no rush!

You're awesome, Nutmeg!

Hey! I know you’ve probably heard this before but take a break! You’ll probably feel a lot better without pressure. I’m terrible at giving advice but please to take care and rest :two_hearts:

Yes I agree you do need a break from the stress, it's always hard to draw under pressure. When you come back you'll have a clearer mind and it'll be easier to draw :heartbeat:
