Tbh I don’t really care or keep up with all the curator things and how the place is run, but I wonder if it’d work if curators chose like ten people that they think would be good picks for potential curators, and from those ten, the community picks the six that actually go on to receive the position?

This is definitely valid, it’s just that there’s always the problem of things turning into a popularity contest with the community in full control
Yeah, I was reading about that in the comments! But I think this way, it gives the community a voice since the people they’re picking from isn’t the entire community, but from the smaller group of people that the curators already picked out as having potential. But it still gives them a choice, albeit a little limited, kinda like how parties irl give you representatives that they put out, and then citizens pick from those.
