i've written an upwards of twelve, thirteen messages for a roleplay -- just a normal response -- and it is just a mindset,,, and a lot of hope

Me too... The closest I get is during starters where I can write upwards of 5 messages, sometimes 6 if I can push it
But that's only if I know what to describe and really do enjoy what I'm rp'ing (and also what the other person can handle).
I usually do uhhh semi-lit to lit most the time, tho. . .sometimes adv-lit if I have the ability

for my starters, usually the longest and can take more than two amino posts if i enjoy the roleplay
actually first, i have to find a reason to really enjoy the roleplay at all. the more i do, the more i am inclined to write more and describe things beautifully. (aka, it’s with friends, it’s about something you enjoy a lot)
anyways, for my starters, i highlight the past 24 hours before being at said location. this highlights. bits and pieces about the character and can give you a way to build onto why the character is in the said emotional state they are in present time. this also helps YOU with figuring out and learning your own character and how they act instinctively. not just on the fly characterization.
after that, i keep in mind that i have to balance
1. inner dialogue
2. outer dialogue
3. characterization
4. how i like to write
i.e. if my character is an asshole, but in the mean girl way, i’ll go, “ Airyuu isn’t typically rude or cruel to people, and he generally means well. It’s natural to not want to interact with people at this time, and in his eyes he’s being kind! “ stuff like that! to make it interesting.
when i describe emotions, i go into detail about them because no emotion being felt is the same!
i also take into my ocs habits due to mental disorders and mental unrest. If my character hadn’t slept, I’ll include slower movements, and pauses in speech.
