The man stubbed out his third cigarette of the day and adjusted his dark-brown trench coat, letting out a sigh. He gripped firmly onto his suitcase that stood beside him, ready to enter his new life for a while. Running his fingers through his hair he could faintly see a blobby silhouette of himself from the sign on the door '221B Baker Street', he was back home.

Unlocking the door, it swung open with a dull groan, dust already greeting him as the light crept through the otherwise dark stairway up to the flat, wallpaper slowly peeling off the sides of the wall. A door to the left also greeting him, a welcome mat placed at the foot of the door, cheerfully greeting him. He hoped Mrs. Hudson was still doing well, he must greet her later, he thought.

Before he could even get to the top of the staircase he was greeted by a familiar melody--the sounds of the violin echoed down the stairs--both a warning and a greeting for what was to come. The door at the top of the stairs was already unlocked, he was waiting for him.

Swinging open with a fained smile, he spoke, "Sherlock--I'm home."

To his surprise the music almost abruptly stopped, a trait quite unlike Sherlock, who would typically have to finish his piece before moving onto the next task--a trait that, he to had in common with Sherlock.

"What a nice surprise, take a seat Godric, I have missed you my dear son." Sherlock spoke rapidly as he frantically picked up books and an assortment of items of the chair, placing it haphazardly onto the floor.

"It isn't a surprise you invited me--" He retorted, confused by the statement.

"Yes I know, I was attempting conversation."  Almost at an attempt to wave the confusion away.

"Well don't do that again--"

This is just a work in progress part of Godric’s backstory and well some writing practise too!! Some parts may change and be altered as the character continues to develop. If you can't already tell he is part of a Sherlock RP! :D
