this is about my first blog, in this one i'll be talking and reviewing Evangelion. It's , if you ask me the number one anime and manga to ever exist. I could relate to it so much and it gave my look on life way different, things like   , be happy with what you got , don't let others get you down , it'll only bring sadness and sorrow to your own self.

Well enough of that, let's get into the plot shall we!

Evangelion is very complicated to explain to people who haven't watched it, so i'll explain the basics

evangelion starts off with this boy called Shinji Ikari, he gets a call from his aunt, him not expecting this at all due to barely ever hearing from his family since his mother died a few years ago. The boy had sealed himself in his own thoughts and emotions, His aunt har told Shinji that she'd pick him up at the nearby metro in Tokyo-3 (this is where most of the anime takes place)

Soon getting into the car, their seems to go off an alaram while the two drove into the city. Heading for this base called Nerv HQ, which his father owns. Shinji's father doesn't like his son due to multiple reasons, he reminds him off his wife, Yui Ayanami.

But he is needed at the base to pilot this enormous robot called an Eva.

        

this enormous manmade robot is used to fight godlike deities called angels. Nerv needs an pilot fot the robot and therefor his father s his son Shinji to do it. He shoots in denial at first, letting out his anger to his father, which he simply replies 'Pilot the eva, Shinji.'

Shinji does so and beats the angel as the robot goes berserk, almost killing Shinji. Luckily the boy survives, after a week ed since the battle the boy wakes up. A blue haired girl staring at him while he laid in the hospital bed. The girl(best girl) is called Rei, Rei Ayanami. Something seems off about this certain girl shinji says to himself. Rei is a emotionless girl who acts very cold and short ans also a pilot just like Shinji, her pupils as red as a ruby.

As the anime progresses into the next battle. The next pilot arrives to back them up. A trained german pilot who goes by the name of Asuka. She's nothing like Rei, Asuka is mean and has very high charisma. She is very proud of herself and selfish , and talks down on others.

  

after about 7 fights with the angels, the anime starts taking a darker turn. The characters begining to question themselves. Rei feels empty and alone, Shinji struggles with his own emotions and gets depressed. And Asuka can't escape her past and the sad things that have happened.

The last three episodes are really messed up, this is what i like about the anime. The characters fall into a deep sort of mental state where you see what their minds are going thru.

at one episode it turns out that NERV was functioning as a cover for an even more clandestine organization known as Seele. Seele had been researching the Angel phenomenon for a long time and, informed by ancient prophecies, had actually orchestrated an apocalypse that would turn all life on Earth into a giant soup of semi-sentient slime.

assuming that this new existence would represent a higher form of mass consciousness that transcends human limitations. At the end Shinji alone is faced with a choice: to save humanity and individuality or to allow all human life to dissolve into an amorphous collective consciousness.

i could talk for hours more but, things will get too conplicated, and by now i reached the point where i explained the main story and the purpose of the anime

Shinji Ikari

The main protaganist

 

Shinji Ikari, the main protagonist of the series and the designated pilot of Evangelion Unit-01. He is the son of Yui Ayanami and NERV Commander Gendo Ikari. After his mother's death, he was abandoned by his father and lived for 11 years with his sensei, until he has to go too Tokyo-3 to pilot Unit-01 against the Angels. He lives with Misato Katsuragi, they are later ed by Asuka.

Looks

Shinji has medium-length straight brown hair and grey-blue eyes. Shinji is also very skinny, and often has his shirt tucked in, showing that he is a rather tidy person.

Personality

Shinji shows a ive and laid-back personality, inheriting such traits from his relaxed life with his sensei. When he is told to pilot Unit-01, he denies, not wanting to do it. Though Shinji denies it, he yearns for praise, and he eventually begins to pilot Unit-01 to gain the approval and love from his father. He also continually tells himself "I mustn't run away!", further demonstrating his need to move forward and let go of the past.

Shinji shows a great fear of emotional pain and of being hated or left behind, likely due to his perception of being abandoned in his youth and, subsequently, blaming himself for not being good enough to make his father stick around. In general, Shinji is shown to be introverted and disconnected from physical reality due to having little to no meaningful with others.

Rei Ayanami

My favourite character :blue_heart:

 

No specific information is given about Rei's origin or heritage. Gendo states that Rei was born in a certain room deep in the lower levels of NERV headquarters, but this is all that is explicitly revealed in the series about her creation. Rei was created from the "salvaged remains" of Yui Ikari after Yui died by absorption into Unit-01 in 2004.

The connection between Rei and Yui is implied a few times during the series. Therefore is Rei a sort of clone, and it explains why she is emotionless, empty and sad. But rei knows little about anything due to being , simply created. Parts of a very special angel were used to create the Rei series( all the Rei clones)

Looks

Rei has short pale blue hair with bangs centered to the middle and has red eyes. At the beginning of the series, she would wear bandages such as her arm and her eye one. She wears the same school uniform but wears white loafers instead, and black ankle socks.

 

Personality

At the start of the series, Rei is socially withdrawn, seemingly emotionless, and rarely interacts with anyone, except for Gendo, to whom she initially displays loyalty but with whom she has a generally distant relationship. She lives by herself in a dull sparsely-furnished apartment.

As the series progresses, she begins to develop relationships with others and to show moments of genuine emotion, to even become sad and cry.

There are alot more, but if i explain every character the post will be a bit too long. So i just showed my favourite two

I first had to get uses to the rather old and slightly off art style but once i did , i fell in love. This anime has shown me lots of things, that you should be happy with the things you got since it can always be even worse. No matter the situation, And i could relate to every characters feelings and how they acted. Initially i enjoyed it all and watched the anime and movies about 5-6 times.

It has a huge impact on me and i will never forget it
