reilo for the soul bc i'm losing my mind

this is a list of headcanons i made to keep my sanity intact because i am losing my mind over the lack of content to power my soul. please, i just want reilo tooth-rotting fluff.

rei and arlo has those long distance touch lamps. it was rei’s idea, he wanted to give arlo a gift that will make him think of him even when they’re apart. arlo finds it adorable, and every morning he makes sure to touch the lamp as a way of saying good morning or just a sign that he’s awake and thinking of rei.

rei and arlo fell for each other differently. for rei, it was a crush that developed into love as he tries to get close to arlo. on the otherhand, for arlo, he unintentionally fell for rei as they spent more time together and then one day he looked at him and realised, oh shit, i want to live with this person for the rest of my life.

rei and arlo has their fair share of arguments, rei always extends the olive branch first because he knows arlo will never do it because he can be too prideful so he relents first. arlo is aware of this thus he always tries to communicate with rei and clear up their argument, he may not be the one to apologise first, but he always acknowledges that he has made a mistake and owns up to it.

neither of them are the jealous type, but rei likes having arlo’s attention all for himself and hates it when their moment together is interrupted and will pout about it. arlo finds it funny and cute, often teasing rei about it as well.

arlo isn’t a big fan of pda, but will willingly hold hands with rei in public. in private, however, arlo practically drapes himself all over rei, not that he’s complaining. rei loves to shower him with smooches whenever he gets clingy because arlo always gets flustered and it's so adorable that he can’t help himself. they also spend most of their alone time cuddling or something more...active, depending on the mood.

rei and arlo take turns doing different chores, they even have a schedule, which is totally arlo’s idea. it doesn’t get followed all the time, but neither of them gets too pressed about it.

arlo was the one who brought up they should move in together after two years of dating, but it was rei who proposed to him after four years of being together. rei proposed to him during a late night stroll at the beach, and man, arlo was the happiest man alive then.

it took some convincing but rei eventually managed to persuade arlo to adopt a kid...well kids, they adopted twins. they’re both the sweetest darlings and they couldn’t be happier about their choice. arlo is definitely the stricter parent while rei spoils them a bit, but the two of them work really well with raising their lovely kids.
