I had felt like partaking in the #LaunchImageContest so being a big fan of making gifs, I decided to make one for this. I went with the standard iPhone screen size for my base dimensions. It's about 260 KB in size, a 2 second long loop, and if I correctly, 35 frames at 15 frames/sec. Being I wasn't 100% sure on dimensions I kept the files so it can be easily adjusted if needed.
So to make it, basically I made the flag in Photoshop with some rectangles and made 9 of them side by side so I had enough off view. Then I added the text and designs on top of the bars as regular black images. I did take some pieces of Illustrators' pre-made symbols for the branches. It was then all sent to After Effects where the bars where simply animated to move from point A to point B. Since there are 9 bars, bar 9 lines up perfectly to end where bar 1 starts to give the illusion that it continues forever instead of just starting over. The text and symbols where set to Overlay which gave the neat look of depth.
No matter what happens out there, just hope at least somebody thinks it looks cool :p
