“I am the King!” Aegon bellowed. He grabbed cups that littered the table in the council chambers and threw them away in fits of a red faced rage. It wasn’t anything new, Elaenora had been privy to his tantrums many times in her life, but this was different, he looked like a child, damaging things because he knew he could and it was the only way he could express it. Elaenora stood, her hand firmly on the table to remind herself of where she was and to steady her balance. “Every time you utter a single word, all I hear is grandsire’s voice, he taught you very well, didn’t he?”

She grimaced, clenching her jaw and breathed heavily. “And every time you speak, all I hear is a child whining, I suspect you never really unlatched yourself from our mother’s teat.” Elaenora gritted her teeth. “You are acting like a child, you might be the king but you are my brother first.” She cringed when she heard him pick up another cup, expecting him to throw it at her and yet, he set it down once again. “If you truly want people to see you as the heir, you have to make them love you and hate Rhaenyra… and as of right now, Rhaenyra is gaining strength in numbers with her loyal followers.”

She could hear Aegon’s anger without even being able to see it. “You make me sick…” Elaenora found it hard to find the words.

Princess Elaenora Targaryen is the first

daughter of the late King Viserys I and the Queen Consort Alicent Hightower. The Princess is the second oldest child from Viserys’ second marriage, but is the third child to survive infancy. She was born with a condition that rendered her eyesight impaired, completely devoid of any kind of ability to see and it was only discovered that she was completely blind until she was around three years old. She is the first and only Targaryen to be born blind, some have often said that because of her mother’s blind hatred for Rhaenyra that caused Elaenora to be born blind. However, those rumours were cruel and untrue but for a princess to be born blind, there is a certain shame to it.

Elaenora was a Dragon Rider, however brief it may have been but she is blessed with the blood of the dragon. She claimed the she-dragon Gaelithox when it was her ninth name day. The She-Dragon was said to have been a hatchling of Meraxes and bore a strong resemblance to its mother but a dark grey colouring on her wings and spine, and had a haunting colour of green eyes. Despite Elaenora being blind, it was said that she held a strong bond with her dragon, a very gentle and docile creature, almost being her eyes in some s. Gaelithox was a large dragon, not as big as Vhagar but had four sets of horns on her head, almost like a crown that made the she-dragon larger than she actually was.

Gaelithox had only one dragon rider and that was Elaenora, for many years before the princesses birth, the she-dragon remained without a rider and was kept in the dragonpit. She had other riders try to fly her but they unfortunately couldn’t tame the beast, until Elaenora came along and they often said, the keepers that looked after the dragons, the dragon waited for its master.

Elaenora had a strong bond with Gaelithox until her death around the time of The Dance of Dragons truly began when Elaenora was twenty-two years old. After Gaelithox’s ing, aside from Vhagar, the Greens had significantly lost one of their powerhouses. The Princess was said to have cried for hours after learning of her dragon’s ing. She never participated in the Dance but was a loyal er of The Greens.

It wasn’t until the tragic death of her sister, things started to change for Elaenora, she was at war between her heart and her head. As much as she loved her brother, Aegon, she couldn’t side with him any longer and ultimately defected to The Blacks. Albeit it might not have been a wise decision on both sides, she still held a lot of love for her brother and still had to set aside her indifference with Rhaenyra.

Elaenora has a plethora of nicknames, most of them are given lovingly and are often spoken by her siblings. They are of endearment, though, there are some that she despises and when someone speaks it, she hates it. Nora, is a common nickname that her mother gives her, the others such as Nell or Nellie is sometimes that her siblings give her. Ellie is one nickname that was given to her by her father, Viserys, but the way it rolls of the tongue reminds her of too many memories that she doesn’t want to relive. However, there are many other names that she is known by, things that she cannot control and is ashamed of.

Elaenora was born blind, forever unable to see, the maesters were not prepared for such things. In fact, there were no books on the condition and because of her blindness, they were able to understand it more. She was given the nickname, if one person could call it that, The Blind Targaryen. She will forever be known as nothing more and nothing less, aside from the fact that she sided with The Greens and was a loyal er until she defected to The Blacks when Helaena committed, this will ultimately give her the name Elaenora the Traitor.

Princess Elaenora Targaryen was born in the year 108 AC to Viserys I Targaryen’s second marriage to Queen Alicent Hightower. She was born on the seventh day of the tenth moon. In astrological , she would have been a Libra. The Princess is the second oldest child in Viserys second marriage and is the third child to have survived infancy. She is the second oldest daughter overall. Throughout the Queen’s pregnancy, there were no detected signs of complications and was as smooth as possible, until it came to giving birth to the child. When Alicent began her labours, they were earlier than expected, she wasn’t due for another two weeks and they were not prepared for the child to come this early.

The babe was breeched, in a position that required Elaenora to be turned and after hearing that Viserys’ first wife went through the same turmoil, the Queen was not ready to die in the same manner. However, they were able to turn the child safely for it to go down the birthing canal. Though, when Elaenora came out the womb, the umbilical cord was stuck around her neck and the handmaidens that were helping deliver the babe were on the ball and cut it before there was a disaster.

Upon bringing out the child from Queen Alicent’s womb, the babe was swaddled in cloth and dried of blood and placed into the arms of the Queen soon after. The child was declared a girl and the bells were rung throughout Kings Landing from dawn until dusk. Princess Elaenora Targaryen, first of her name and Princess of the Realm. It was said when Princess Elaenora was born, she was pulled from her mother kicking and screaming, covered in blood. The child wailed so loud that people throughout the castle heard it, however, when the child was being cleaned and wrapped in cloth, she was placed in her mother’s arms and ceased the screaming. The wet nurses couldn’t believe that the child had only been screaming a moment before and for it to be silenced moments after. Of course, it was said, the nurses began to laugh quietly.

In the beginning, when Elaenora was first born, no one had suspected that she was blind. She was a baby, the only thing a baby could do in the first year or two was eat, shit, cry, sleep and then repeat. Sometimes often in that order, sometimes out of those orders. Elaenora’s blindness was discovered when she was around three years old, a very late age to discover something so life changing and that it was. Due to Elaenora being the second child, she was supposed to be betrothed to her older brother, Aegon, but due to her blindness, she required extra care and attention which left her unable to be married.

However, despite her blindness, she was exceptionally good in her studies, those that required nothing to do with her hands and rather speaking. She was considered the best spoken out of all the children of Alicent’s, eloquent with her High Valyrian but unfortunately she can’t read or write. There are no books in the citadel or that the maesters can provide for her to be able to read, though, there have been times where they have tried to teach her how to read by reading to her.

Elaenora was born into the House Targaryen. The first of her name and Princess of the realm. She was the second eldest child of King Viserys’ second marriage to Queen Alicent and the second eldest daughter overall, she was also the third child to survive infancy, at the time before her other siblings were brought into this world. During one of the worst times in history, also commonly known as The Dance of Dragons, or The Dance, there were two sides that both believed that they were right and they were followed faithfully by their allies. The Blacks followed Rhaenyra Targaryen and The Greens followed Aegon II Targaryen, Elaenora Targaryen followed her brother, Aegon and was a loyal follower of The Greens before she defected to The Blacks.

Elaenora worships The Seven, she often attends the Sept to pray to the Gods and Goddesses. She is seen with her mother at most times, she feels as if it is a way for her to be closer to her mother, even if she doesn’t feel the love her mother supposedly has. However, as times changed, she no longer prayed to the Gods, what was the point in it? They never answered her call or even listened to her pleas late at night. It all changed when the war occurred, she no longer believed in them and began to worship another higher being. Elaenora later on then does not worship or follow Faith of the Seven, especially after the deaths of her siblings; Helaena, Aegon and Aemond. She despises the thought of religion since that day her family was taken from her and forever resents such things.

Despite worshiping The Seven, she has a love hate relationship with religion and often curses the seven because of her blindness and wondered why did they have to choose her, why her? She didn’t ask to be blind, let along she didn’t ask to be born with this condition and so everyday, when she was younger she would pray to the seven when her mother would visit the Sept, beg for them to take away her blindness and make her see. It never happened, of course, they never listen, not really and they don’t care, they take what they want to give little in return.

As Elaenora wasn’t able to learn things with her hands such as needlework, reading or writing, drawing or painting, she learned other things as she wanted to be useful in some way and hated thinking that people thought her useless. She learned High Valyrian as well as a bastardised version of it, Low Valyrian. She has an affinity with languages, sometimes things are best understood and learned directly than reading a book. Not that was any help with her. She can’t read or write. She wishes she was born different, with the ability to be able to see, to walk without assistance and to read books without having someone read it to her.

During her youth, she was considered a beautiful child, a loving and kind smile that was contagious enough to make all the other lords and ladies of the court smile. Everything amused Elaenora when she was younger, there were times that Viserys called Elaenora by her older sister’s name, at times she wouldn’t take notice of it but as she got older, she started to view things differently. Looks are not everything, but in Elaenora’s life she has been told that she is an attractive young woman. She has the blood of the dragon, a fair complexion, long silver-blonde hair that cascades her back in waves and milky violet eyes. Due to her blindness, there isn’t that much colour in her eyes other than the milky, off-coloured violet, it looks as if she was born without any eyes at all with how light they are.

In certain lights, she has a mixture of both Targaryen and Hightower looks, she has been told that she looks like Rhaenyra when she was young but she doesn’t know what she looks like, let alone what her voice sounds like. She has a pair of close deep-set violet eyes, paired with thin and low brows on a strong brow bone, a long but soft nose and wide but plump lips, her bottom lip is pouter than the other and has a prominent cupids bow. She has a single mole on the right side of her face and near her nose.

As the Princess began to grow up, she developed quite well as a woman, roundness of her hips, slimming of her waist and the swelling around her chest. She didn’t know what was happening to her at first when her body started to change, things were not explained to her very well when she was younger and because she was blind she found it difficult to first let people dress her when her body was growing. It wasn’t until her lady maids started talking to her about her body changing, she slowly began to understand but it didn’t come with her refusing to allow them to touch her.

Elaenora wears an awful lot of violets, purples and muted greens, including various colours of blue. She doesn’t wear the traditional red and black dresses that most Targaryen’s would do to represent their house. She wears often wears the same colour as her mother does, a deep and rich green, however, as time goes along she drifts away from the colour green and opts for colours of various purples and blues, including pinks. The style of dresses she wears are form fitting or draped over her figure. Depending on the fabric that is used, if it is heavy fabric then it is more form fittingstyle of dress or if it is a lighter fabric, such as silk or even cotton, drape her figure. Often she is seen wearing dresses in the style of her mother especially when she was younger, a square neckline or a off the shoulders, which she also dresses it up with a golden linked belt that hangs over her hips. She wears little heeled shoes that are made from velvet with golden embroidery sewn into them. There is exquisite embroidery of gold and silver stitched into the dresses that she wears.

Made from the finest and expensive gold within Westeros, including Essos, she adorns herself in rings, earrings and jewellery. Elaenora wears a pair of golden earrings that drape from her ears, they are in a form of a bee with red rubies for the eyes, they are the most expensive piece of jewellery that she owns, she has a few plain pair of earrings that she wears more often, she also possesses a pair of earrings that are identical to the pair that Rhaenyra wore for her name day when she was anointed the heir, but instead of mother of pearl, amethyst are in replacement. In a few dresses that she owns, there is a few tiny dragons sewn into the fabric but they are not as noticeable and the sleeves of her dresses are often long and draped.

Princess Elaenora Targaryen has an introverted disposition, for the most part, she is very observant and wise beyond her years for such a young woman. She knows how the world works without actually knowing the inner workings of it all, but she does understand a great amount and isn’t blind to it. She knows that men long for war and to die with glory surrounding them, whereas for women, dying on the birthing bed or from grief, or madness seems to be the way for them. However, she can be very extroverted when it comes to voicing reasons and concerns, she is very forthright about speaking the truth and nothing but the truth when it is needed. She isn’t easy on the approach when it comes to telling people how it is.

Driven by emotions, she is often at war between her heart and her head, it is plain to see that when she loses a sibling and her priorities change. She has a deep understanding of her emotions but is controlled by them in certain aspects of her life, torn between what is right and what is wrong. The war that divided her family only fed into those feelings that she tried so hard to win over but, in the end, she defected to The Blacks when her sister died, it was an immediate shock and for her to a complete 180. Unlike her sister, Helaena, she wasn’t as gentle as her, Elaenora could be destructive, whether to herself or to other means. The Princess was noted to have a fiery temper, almost fierce when she got angry and would let her mouth run away from her.

Elaenora has a very caring and understanding nature, she seemed to connect with people on a deeper level than others possibly could and empathise with them. She was adored by many, including the common folk and even the lords and ladies of court. A kindly young woman, that has a deep understanding in matters of emotions. She is very witty, often the wittiness is mistaken for rudeness, but there are times that she can come across as being cold and blunt. Elaenora cares a lot for the people she loves, she loves her family, even how erratic they may be and how hard it is to love them.

The Princess is a jealous young woman, within reason, she doesn’t make no secret of it either when it comes to her time voicing opinions and sometimes letting her emotions control her actions. She hates being blind and sees it as being a hindrance, makes her look less than a humans dn less than a princess. She sometimes thinks that maybe is she was born a man, even with blindness, she would be a better King than her brother.

She suffers with bouts of low moments. It isn’t as uncommon as most would think. Elaenora, above all else, has moments of frustration and annoyance. She gets rather annoyed with herself because of her blindness, it took a while for her to get used to it even though she was born with the aliment but even now she makes common mistakes. She knows sometimes some people smirk at her, she can hear it in their voices and she is privy to things that are nasty.

Elaenora had a strained relationship with her father, she made no secret of it when he ed away as she had no love lost when he ed, but mourned for the relationship that they could’ve had and there was a moment in time that she did love her father. When she was just a young girl, she would often visit her father and wanted to spend time with him in his quarters, but never did he once speak to her, they say in silence or if she arrived with her guide, he would turn her away and finish his project of Old Valyria. It stung that her own father was more interested in bits of wood and glue stuck together to resemble what he imagined Old Valyria was like before The Doom. She blamed it on the premise that she was blind, compared herself to bastards or dwarves, less than a princess, or at least worthy of being one and a Targaryen.

When Viserys’ health was deteriorating, she would often sit by his bed until it was time for her to go to bed or any other tedious task that was needed of a blind princess. He would be asleep when these moments would occur and she would sit quietly, listening to his laboured breaths and wondered sick thoughts. Because she was blind, would people suspect her if she murdered her father or put him out of his misery with a poison? If she was the last person to see him alive, she imagined that they would have suspected her but would they blame her as easily? Elaenora never went through with it, of course, but the thoughts still often lingered when she would visit him in his chambers.

When Viserys finally ed away, there was a hole that couldn’t be filled and it wasn’t that he was gone, no, it was more that he never even tried to develop any form of relationship with her and often dismissed her. She never cried, but she mourned for the child that she once was that wanted nothing more than her father to love her as any father would.

She is her mother’s daughter, Elaenora has a strong relationship with her mother, albeit that often do not see eye to eye and have differing opinions, feelings and views on things, but these two are as thick as thieves. Elaenora has been told that she looks like her mother in certain lights when she was younger and acts like her too, but that fire she has in her belly is Targeryen. She spends a lot more time with her mother than she did when she was younger, often attends the Sept with her to often pray and even though she doesn’t believe in gods that much, it gives her a chance to be with her mother.

To put it plainly, Elaenora is not only jealous of Rhaenyra but she doesn’t know her well. They are related by blood since they share a father, but she doesn’t believe that she is her sister and one problem that might be is the age difference. By the time she was born, Rhaenyra was trying to find a perfect match for a husband and then when she was around two years old, she was married. She is jealous of her because she was the apple of their father’s eye, seen as his sweet little girl but also doesn’t help that Elaenora has been told she looks a lot like Rhaenyra when she was younger.

There is a tough relationship between Aegon and Elaenora, they had often butted heads in the past and they were once betrothed until it was called off due to her blindness. Aemond, well, they both have a close relationship, not overly but they have taken care of one another. Daeron, she barely knows her little brother, she re when he was born and from when he was a child, but she doesn’t know him that much as he is away.

The She-Dragon was said to have been a hatchling of Meraxes and bore a strong resemblance to its mother but a dark grey colouring on her wings and spine, and had a haunting colour of green eyes. Despite Elaenora being blind, it was said that she held a strong bond with her dragon, a very gentle and docile creature, almost being her eyes in some s. Gaelithox was a large dragon, not as big as Vhagar but had four sets of horns on her head, almost like a crown that made the she-dragon larger than she actually was.

As a child, a lot would describe Princess Elaenora as being a joyful child, there was always a smile upon her lips and chubby cheeks, a laugh that always brought a smile to any knight, or lord or lady’s face. There were time where it was often criminal for her to be this happy, always running about and doing everything she could in that day. She was a joyful child, full of glee and happiness. However, she had the Targaryen fire, the little Princess had a temper on her and when it would arise, a red mark would appear on her forehead, it was a birthmark that was born with her and would often faintly appear whenever she was angry, it still does now.

However, as she grew up and started to learn a little bit more about the world, she grew increasingly serious. A drastic change from her joyful nature as a baby and a child. Some say it was due to her being mindful of her duty as she grew up, or maybe it was because of the tension that began to rise far off in the distant future. Her tutors and her septa had said she was exceptional in everything she did; languages, dancing, singing, High Valyrian, dragon-riding, histories of Westeros and Essos. She was a bright young girl with a lot ahead of her.

There was a moment in her life where she stopped running and dancing about with nothing to care about in the world, some are still struggling to figure it out why she changed, some may never know, but there was only one thing that could make such a joyous child turn into something serious. Some speculated that it was because of her father, Viserys, he seemed to not take any notice of his children with Alicent and often held a candle for his eldest daughter, Rhaenyra. There was one time that Elaenora went to see her father and read to him as she always did, whilst he was making a model of a city, that he had called her Rhaenyra and when he realised that it wasn’t her and then dismissed her to leave him to continue his pottering.
