Hello you amazingly great Throners! As you know, today is a special day. The time of the year to pay tribute to our moms and ofcourse fictional moms. With that said, this blog (as said in the title) is a tribute to the great (okay maybe some not so great and also a bit crazy) mothers in the world of Game of Thrones.
:bouquet:  Happy Mothers Day  :bouquet:

:cocktail: Cersei Lannister :cocktail:
For doing everything in her power to secure the Iron Throne for her children even if it means killing off a few people that got in the way. She might look cold and unforgiving (okay she is) but deep down she loved her children to the core. She will not let anyone harm them and would go as far as killing them to prevent anyone else from doing so because she can't bear to see her children suffer.

Getting the Iron Throne is part of her revenge for her children's deaths. No matter what they say, Cersei was a good mother in her own way.

:cupid: Catelyn Stark :cupid:
The mother of our beloved Stark children. One who will hold on to the sharp edge of a blade to prevent it from killing her child. One who will spend sleepless nights beside her ill son waiting and praying that he wakes up. I know it was wrong of her to let Jaime go without her son's approval but she was desperate to have her daughters back. All the armed men who s his son and even Robb himself wouldn't understand the pain that she's going through at that time.

With two of her sons, one a cripple and the other barely a boy, left at Winterfell and two daughters in the hands of the enemy it is no wonder that she would take even the littlest leap of faith to have a chance that they be together again.
She also has to worry about Robb everytime he goes out to battle. All of this would surely drive a mother mad but Catelyn stayed strong. She stood by Robb even when he suggested that she go home. She stayed up to her son's last breath and died thereafter. She's an example of a mother's strength despite all odds.

🌙 Lysa Arryn 🌙
I know what you're thinking. She's crazy paranoid. Yes but then who wouldn't be? She killed her husband for the love of another and at any moment she fears of people finding out the truth plus she has her only son, the Lord of the Vale, to worry about. He was sickly and weak and it would hurt any mother to not let him have what he wants because she fears his health will deteriorate if she doesn't.

She spoiled her child and that is true to some extent because his son is now lord of the Vale afterall. She would give him anything to make him happy because that is the joy of a mother.

:fire: Selyse Baratheon :fire:
Another mother ,who no matter what everyone thinks, deserves to be here as well. She is a mother and eventhough she rarely showed it, she did love Shireen in her own way. She was shown to not care enough for her daughter but i think its not because she doesn't live her but because she actually feels burdened that she wasn't able to provide a good heir for her husband.

Such a pity that we only saw her love for Shireen at the end when it was actually too late but then again, its when we lose someone when we finally realize how much we love them. Because of her guilt for not loving Shireen enough or rather for not showing it, she killed herself. There's not much "guilt" in the world of Gane of Thrones so this one really emphasized how deeply a mother can woe for the loss of her child that it will drive her to take her own life.

:sunflower: Gilly :sunflower:
Mother of little Sam. Perhaps a wildling but definitely a proper mother when it comes to her son. She was the first of her family who runaway from Craster so she can save her child. What mother would give away her newborn son to a monster anyway? A a shameless good for nothing being, thats who.
So thank you Gilly for being the best mither you can ever be for little Sam and for showing us that mothers woyld face any fear for the sake of her child.

:snake: Ellaria Sand :snake:
Ellaria is probably one of the most encouraging moms in Game of Thrones. Not only is she very ive to her daughter and adopted daughters but she made sure they are well trained (ofcourse headed by Oberyn at first) to defend themselves. She taught them to stand for what they believe in and ti not be afraid to fight for it.
She might not be right in most people's eyes but understant that she believes she's right and that nothing can shake that belief even death.

:snowman: Karsi :snowman:
I was so sad that she had to die so soon :disappointed_relieved: . She would've been a great character. She was brave and strong and such a loving mom that she made sure her children were safe first before she she helped others.
Definitely a mom that we all will miss.

:fire: Daenerys Targaryen :fire:
Well what list wouldn't be complete without the mother of dragons? Also referred to as Mhysa by many because eventhough she never did have her own child, she considered those she saved as her own. And ofcourse she mothered all three dragons. Not an easy task when your chuld breathes fire and can fly and oh i almost forgot, eats meat.
So Happy Mothers Day to the mother who taught us that motherhood is not an easy task.

Anyway, if you want me to make another and got a GoT mother in mind, feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading guys and I hope you liked it.

Oh how wonderful. I wish I had a mom who fed me poison and imprisoned and executed me publicly(and I mean Dany not Selyse, Selyse had a moustache and doesn't count) Honestly starting to think Joanna was the best mom all along, at least she had the least damage on her kids, and seeing their trio that's saying something
no matter what each of the above mentioned have done they undoubtfully loved their children! great post! 🏽 🏽 🏽
thanks. . and yeah. .they deserve it no matter what. .
Mother is a mother no matter what, and there is nothing they wouldn't do for their little ones, no matter how crazy it is.
