Hey Throners!
This is kind of a follow up blog to ASOIAF's
COTF + Dragonglass = Last Hero. It's not about the main topic of the blog, but rather about something he said at the very end of his post:

Old Nan, in her story to Bran, claims that the 13th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch aka the Nights King (template for the Nights King from the show) is a Stark. According to her he could also have been a Bolton or an Umber, but she is pretty sure that he was actually a Stark. As much of Old Nan's stories is actually true, I have no reason to not believe her when she says that the NK was a Stark.
As of now however, it has to be confirmed that the Others in the books are lead by a central figure, the NK, same as their White Walker counterparts in the show, so I will have to draw from the show as well (shocking, right? Barry doing show theories!)
Anyway, to get to the point of this rambling, my theory basically is, that the NK has not been one and the same person over the millennia, but multiple and each and everyone of them a Stark. This in combination with there always being a Stark in Winterfell would ensure that there would be no other ice zombie invasion, since for that the NK would have to revert to kinslaying, which is like the biggest no no among First Men (alongside disregarding guest right).
To ensure that no Stark would have to suffer endlessly as an ice zombie, there would be a new NK every other century or so, as soon as there was another viable candidate to take up the baton. This of course was kept a secret, because nobody would respect the Starks anymore if they were known to be in cahoots with the Others/White Walkers. Somewhere along the line, probably rather recently (so in the last centuries or so) this secret must have gone lost, probably because a Stark that knew the secret has died before being able to it on to the next generation.
The current NK doesn't know this though and thinks he has been forgotten, so he either just wants to check if there is any Stark left alive that could replace him or he gets angry immediately, thinking of having been abandoned and goes on a murder spree to seek revenge which is the whole reason for the ice zombie invasion.
This is just a fun little tinfoil theory that I made up in five minutes or so, after reading Song's blog, so it's not really fleshed out or anything, but more of a ramble. I hope you enjoyed it anyway and leave your thoughts about it in the comments

They're looking for ICE, im telling ya
So, Craster's a Stark? I think so too, but couldn't really back up the theory well enough to rlwrite up a blog. I also kind wonder if "winter is coming" is more of a threat and not a warning.

One confirmed I mean. We've only see the one turned. Of course we can assume some of the rest are his brothers. But not all can be Craster's sons and I doubt the leader will be someone younger than 30

One of Crasters wives warned the NW of Craste's sons after Crastet was killed

Yes, as I said, we can assume that more of Crasters son's were turned, but I don't believe ALL of them are. It's not likely that the one controlling them all is a son of Craster's, who would at most be in his mid thirties. He has to be older
Fucking Awesome!! That would be so good...
Interesting theory, would be really cool if that's the case :+1: And I nominate Bran as the new NK
I like Song's idea of it being Benjen Stark actually
Interesting... 🤔
Right? :eyes:
