He recently inherited the throne after the death of the previous king, his grandfather, King Thomas II, who died from an unknown illness. Thomas IV’s father and uncle, who were twins, had both been murdered three years prior to the death of King Thomas II, so the crown would now onto Thomas IV.

The beginning of King Thomas IV’s reign was peaceful and simple, but soon his cousin, Edmund began plans to overthrow Thomas. Edmund felt he was the rightful heir to the throne.

The traits that allow Thomas to ultimately stay on the throne:

1. Selfish

Even though he was very courteous and good-natured, Louis had an arrogance to him. He served himself and his wants frequently. He had a ion for personal glory. Despite this, he was always aware of his duty as king and was devoted to the well-being of his kingdom.

2. Manipulative

Margaery Tyrell Former Queen of the Seven Kingdoms

Margaery had a certain skill for winning the hearts of her subjects. This, in turn, gained her the loyalty and respect of the commoners. She was well loved because of her devotion to charity work.

3. Cunning

Cersei Lannister Queen of the Seven Kingdoms

Cersei always has a plan to stay in power. She makes sure to be one step ahead of everyone else. Even if that involves the occasional betrayal or back-alley deal. She will always get the information she needs and do what needs to be done to protect herself. Sadly, her arrogance and poor judgement is usually her downfall.

4. Patient

Elizabeth I Queen of England and Ireland: 1558-1603

Elizabeth had a patience that gave her countries an advantage over other kingdoms. She was cautious of making decisions. She would act at the last possible moment to ensure that her move was always the smartest possible solution. Elizabeth did not like to rush into anything.

5. Humble

Aragorn II the first High King of Gondor and Arnor

Aragorn did have a great pride, but he also showed moments of self-doubt. He, at times, doubted his own wisdom and questioned his decisions. This humility kept his ego in-check, stopping his arrogance from getting to a point of taking advantage of his high position.

He needs some selfishness to fight for what he truly wants. Without his patience and humility, the scheming and manipulating would back fire. He can't act without much consideration; he has to time everything perfectly. Otherwise, we would see his downfall.

So, Tyrion seems like a logical choice for winning the game?

Well, he is not perfect, you are right. But he comes the closest to these traits of all the people which are in the run for the throne. He kinda has it all in small dosages. And he is benevolent, unlike Cersei. Margaery fitted this as well, quite nicely. But she's out of the picture now, so...

I don't really, for me she was kinda meh. She is too real, feels like a typical person. But I still feel her (potential?) demise will be different in the books. She doesn't deserve it. The actress was awesome. I have seen her in Elementary and she plays this totally different character ... villain-y; naughty with a touch of madness, and she surprised me how she delivered these two completely different persona, very truly and faithfully to each respective role.

(In that sense I would love to see Kit Harrington play a villain).
