Planetos Is Not Flat!
I think we all believe that to be the case. I've seen compelling blogs on the subject, but no one has come right and said the world is round. Alright, someone probably has, but I have a short attention span and a shorter memory.
What's West of Westeros?
I stole that from Brandon the Shipwright = Christopher Columbus. Ser Manus puts forth an interesting theory that like Columbus, Brandon discovered a new continent. But unlike Columbus, Brandon didn't return. So, the evidence of any continent is purely speculation.
So, What's West of Westeros?

Ashai. That's right. And I have proof! Oily black stone.

What is oily black stone?
It is the substance that Ashai is made of. It is the substance of which the Five Forts is made. It is the base of the Hightower in Old Town. The Seastone Chair was carved from it. The Long Night of YiTi. He hints at aliens being the cause of that civilization's disappearance. And I believe he's right! About the civilization disappearing, not the aliens.
So What, Some Rock Ends Up in Different Places?

Well, if you believe Barristan and that oily black stone was created by a now vanished civilization and I do, then the location of that stone is very important. Let's look at where that stone is found.

If you look at the map, that stone is found only in far Eastern Essos and Western Westeros. The Five Forts and Ashai are in Eastern Essos. Old Town and Iron Islands are in Western Westeros. So, if you believe that an ancient civilization is responsible for that stone, it makes sense that they were in those regions. And the lack of that stone on the rest of Essos and Westeros makes it obvious, they didn't go that way to get there.
So, the true map of Planetos

I know, right? Shitty map, but you get the picture. Sorry but I'm working in 2 dimensions. Well I'm not, my world is infinite dimensions, but I am toning it down for this mode of communication.
That's it!
Yep, nothing too earth shattering, but this train of thought has opened up some possibilities? I see a trip down the Tinfoil Trail in our future.

Why didn't I think of that *slaps forehead*
Great way of building up on my theory :) Really like it!

I know, you had it all there, just didn't say it

Well, in my defense, I was focused on biological warfare and aliens. Saying the earth is round just isn't tinfoily enough for that ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
So whatever is west of westeros is whatever is east of Ulthos?
No Essos, I think. That map is a bit confusing

Yeah like the way it works that the sunset sea would be between Ulthos and Westeros when in reality its either between Westeros and unknown continent or Essos.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitational_collapse. This shows everything in the Universe is spherical, suns, black holes, rocky planets, has giants, etc. The only things in the Universe that aren't spherical are comets and asteroids that lack the size to undergo gravitational collapse.
Exactly! Because it's Earth. If you look, George calls it Earth throughout the books.
Believe he's using 2nd definition earth = ground
I'm thinking the armillary sphere in the citadel may confirm the planets roundness. As far as what is west of Westeros, I think there is a minimally inhabited continent in between. I do like the "over the pole" connection. I think that continent will become a refuge.
