Everyone knows of the downfall of the King in the North, Robb Stark in the infamous Red Wedding. Which was masterminded by Tywin Lannister, executed by Roose Bolton and Lame Lothor Frey, under the roof of Walder Frey. But how far did that go? Was the red wedding planned since a certain field nurse made her way into Robb Stark's camp?

[RE] Talisa Maegyr: The Wolfsbane-Everyone knows of the downfall of the King in the North, Robb Stark in the infamous Red Wed

Talisa Maegyr the lovely wife of King Robb, and his Queen. Talisa is an original character of the show, she replaces Jeyne Westerling from the books. And to understand Talisa's role we'll first look into Jeyne.

Jeyne Westerling:

[RE] Talisa Maegyr: The Wolfsbane-Everyone knows of the downfall of the King in the North, Robb Stark in the infamous Red Wed

Robb Stark came across Jeyne after he took an arrow wound taking the Crag, the seat of House Westerling. Jeyne took care of Robb and eventually "comforted" him. This lead to Robb marrying Jeyne to protect her honour. She was Robb's queen and House Westerling ed the Northern cause. This lead to Robb breaking his betrothal to Walder Frey's daughter, which lead to the Red Wedding. After the red wedding though... House Westerling was pardoned, and rewarded. And there's Sybell Spicer, Jeyne's mother. She was the granddaughter to Maggy the Frog, she itted to Jaime to being involved in the red wedding, how involved was she if not by breaking the alliance between Robb and the Freys? Her brother became the new Lord of Castamere, and her son was to wed Joy Hill, bastard of Gerion Lannister. So wether Jeyne herself was involved I say house Westerling was definitely involved in the Red Wedding, and it was planned by Tywin Lannister all along.

Talisa Maegyr:

So the focus here is Talisa, and not Jeyne. The field nurse from Volantis who happened to be in the Riverlands tending to the wounded after Robb's battle, or at least she claims to be from Volantis, we know nothing of her. Her wedding to Robb Stark served the same purpose as Jeyne's, breaking the betrothal to Walder Frey's daughter. So if it was planned in the books, so it could be planned in the show. And Talisa being a spy isn't that far fetched, who would be closest to Robb and to know his plans than his perfect hot wife. There's also the letter...

[RE] Talisa Maegyr: The Wolfsbane-Everyone knows of the downfall of the King in the North, Robb Stark in the infamous Red Wed

When Robb confronted her about this letter she said it's a message to Tywin Lannister, Robb took it as a joke... But if it wasn't for Tywin, who else would it be for? Talisa comes from an old house from Volantis, now she's a field nurse in the Riverlands, she has no family in Westeros to receive the letter, and if she does it's not a family that receives Ravens, Ravens don't fly to random houses, a Raven is for a certain castle. And I don't think anyone would take the letter and deliver it to a random home in a random village. Unless it's another of Tywin's spies, one that's not close to Robb but is there to deliver Talisa's reports. Someone pointed out that if Talisa was a spy she'd know about the red wedding, and I say she's a random spy, not Tywin's lover, Tywin doesn't care about her, and her death tied up loose ends. Talisa thinks she's Tywin's prized position and he wouldn't have her harmed, she thought wrong. Tywin didn't even tell Walder Frey about Talisa, and he shouldn't have, telling him that would mean Tywin deliberately lead to the betrothal to be broken and dishonoured the Freys, and Walder thinking he's killing Robb's queen and not Tywin's spy, killed Talisa. And Tywin didn't give a shit.

So I conclude Talisa being a spy makes sense, it fits with Tywin's character, and there are a lot of things we don't know about her, she's always been a sketchy person. You don't wanna believe she was a spy, don't. But I believe she was.

Good theory, but I think it more likely that roose bolton, not talisa, was the spy. Tywin didnt need talisa because he had roose. Though talisa sudden apearance in robb's army is suspicious, she would be an unnecessary and awkward communication piece in the middle of the frey, bolton, lannister communication needed to plan the red wedding.

I like your idea, and I think it is very possible, it would fit Tywin. But I think Talisa went rough on Tywin. She fell in love and wanted to stay with Rob and give him kids. And I think that Tywin didn't want her to scrw his plans so he got her killed to. Talisa wouldn't know about Tywins plans, she was just a whore spy. Puting Jeyne in the show would require putting her family in too and that is unnecessary lost of time for story to move. With Talisa we get the love, and the intrigue of her being a spy.

Grat post  :+1: .

It makes sense, but if I right when Jaime visited them it seemed like her mother still ed Tywin, but Talisa didn't. Her mother had made sure she would not get pregnant without Talisa knowing. Is it possible that her mother was spying for Tywin and Talisa didn't know?

everything you wrote makes good se sense. but you missed one point, Tywin is a calculative person, he wouldnt give chance any space in his plans. Robb met the whore by chance on the field.
