Paths | Inktober #3

Hello Thrones Amino!!

Todays post is for the 3rd prompt of #Inktober2023 this prompt is paths. I decided to make a simple enough post just to explain how characters can share paths and that can lead to conflict.

Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half brother Aegon Targaryen shared a path. Both having claims to the throne. Rhaenyras claim rested upon the fact she was named heir by her father King Viserys. Therefore her life path now was to become the Queen. However that path was challenged the moment Viserys remarried and Alicent gave birth to a son, Aegon.

It is common tradition in Westeros that the crown to the male heir. Even Lords of Westeros would leave their titles and land to their son to inherit. Due to the times and era, that was what was seen as right in Westeros. This means, without even having a want for it. Aegon has a path to the throne simply because he is the Kings male heir.

The two characters sharing paths is what of course caused the conflict and the Dance. Both had strong claims. This of course divided Westeros into two. One side the greens and the others the blacks. I won't go into more detail to not spoil anything.

What my aim is with this is to show how two characters with the same path is the reason for conflict. We even see this in other areas. Such as with Daenerys and Jon. She began to view him as a threat as his path lead to the throne as well as hers. Most characters find enemies within the same path and I think that's why character paths are so intriguing in this story.
