Lion Queen Edit

Hello everybody, for my next post I thought I’d take a break from my wikis about Cersei in each season and post an edit I did earlier today. I haven’t edited in quite a while and I don’t consider it my strong suit but I liked how this one turned out. A quick disclaimer that I don’t own the overlay or original images of this edit so full credit to the original creators. In this blog, I’ll just briefly describe how I made the edit and the apps used.

As you can tell by the title, this edit is lion themed in tribute of our lioness queen. I thought it was fitting given the Lannister sigil is a lion, but also how much Cersei herself is akin to a lion. A fierce protectiveness over her children, a quick temper which can easily be destructive and a powerful presence capable of inciting fear in those around her.

For this particular edit, I only used PicsArt as well as Pinterest to source the lion aesthetic. Both apps are free on the App Store and are very helpful for finding resources and editing, they also are the apps I most commonly use when making edits. In this case, I chose a purple colour palette based on Cersei’s original dress which is a deep reddish-purple.

The process to make this edit was fairly simple and I mainly played around in PicsArt until I liked how it looked. I began with a black background and a texture overlay I found on Instagram. Then, I layered an image of a lion over the top after adjusting the hue to purple. Lastly came editing the image of Cersei herself which I cut out from the background and adjusted the colours and saturation to make the image more salient. I considered adding some text too but in the end I decided I was happy with how it looked.
