Hello, AGirlis here. The topic below is one of the most important and possibly most talked about notions, Who is the Third head of the Dragon. This will be the first b a series. I certainly hope you enjoy.
(A Repost from House SunPyre)

There are so many candidates for possible Dragons. In this blog series, we will explore those who fit the description as the Last Hero or Azor Ahai. Since the battle for the Long Night will will require a united front, many will have roles to fulfill as the army of the White Walkers approach.
~ • ¥ • ~
We will not include the obvious in this series. Clearly, Danearys Targaryen and Jon Snow are important in the grand scheme of the story. Since their character arcs lead many to believe each is The Prince that was promised and/or Azor Ahai, this series will explore others who have similar traits or experiences that make them heroes.

LORD LANNISTER
Tyrion Lannister is the imp son of Joanna and Tywin Lannister. His mother died at birth, just as Jon Snow's and Danearys' mothers did. He is an outcast in his family as well as society. He understands how the world views him, as he explains to Jon that "all dwarves are bastards in their father's eyes."
~ • ¥ • ~
"Men's Law give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not," a quote from his father Lord Tywin Lannister proving Tyrion is correct with his observation. Or it could be the fact Tyrion spends his time with undesirables that upsets his Lord father- either is arguable. Jon recieves the same resentment from Ser Alliser Thorne, master of arms in the Nights Watch. The relationship Jon has with Samwell Tarly is frowned upon as well as his relstionship with certain Wildings.
Danearys experiences the same with Viserys who views the Dothraki people as savages. Tyrion, Daenerys and Jon each simply see PEOPLE where others see outcasts.

THE WEAPON
Azor Ahai forged his sword by sacrificing his love, Missa Missa, to create his weapon. Since, Tyrion's weapon is his mind, he sharpens it by reading books. Metaphorically, he plunged his other "sword" into Tysha, his first wife, and this destroyed her life. The same could be said for Shae. He has a reputation for his "sword," both of them, his mind and his "manhood." His father detests how he uses both. Tywin has hatred for his "low cunning" and his lustfulness.
~ • ¥ • ~
Unlike Tyrion, It could be said that Jon's sword is the Night's Watch and It is responsible for Ygritte's final demise and the same Watch put many blades through him. ( still mad at Ollie) Or Jon could be Nissa Nissa, since his fellow men stabbed him through the heart. He could be Lightbringer as well as Azor Ahai, both hero and weapon. Dany has the obvious weapon, Dragons. Her sword is Fire Made a Flesh.

Like Danearys, The tiny Lannister has dragon dreams. Which hints to him being a dragon rider or a secret Targaryen or both. 🤔

THE CAT HAS MANY LIVES
Now, book readers are sometimes upset with how Jon and Dany seem to survive fatal situations unscathed, so let's get upset about Lord Tyrion. He gets away with murder...
~ • ¥ • ~
* He somehow survived the traverse to the Erie with attackes made by Mountain clans
* He somehow did not roll out of the Sky Cell
* He found a champion in the Vale (where there is a strong dislike of Lannisters) to fight and win a trial by combat ( Thanks Bronn!)
* Then he survived the trip down the Vale to the Lannister forces
* The Mountain clans wanted him dead, but became his fighting men ( upset yet?)

* The frontline of battle at the Green Fork should have killed him, but nooooo
- this was Tywin's first attempt to kill him, forcing him to lead the Mtn clans and Bronn
* The promotion to acting Hand seemed to be a reward, unless you consider that the last two Hands were killed. 🙃
* In the books, he arrives in Kingslanding and tries to enter the small council and meets the opposition of Ser Mandon Moore. He enters, shows his letter and is threatened with arrest - which the cunning little imp deflects.
~ • ¥ • ~
* He disobeys Tywin and brings Shae to the capital, which Varys knows and could tell either Tywin or Cersei, but he neglects to whisper this information. Hmmm...
* He leads a troop of men at the Battle of the Blackwater
* Mandon Moore tries to kill him, but Podrick Payne saves him, drowning Ser Mandon.

There are several instances where Tyrion should have perished, but he just keeps living :yum:
Are the gods watching over Tyrion? Is he magic? :grinning:

A LION REBORN
It is worth noting that Tyrion uses Wildfire as a champion against Stannis' army. Fire is also the choice weapon for Dany. This is also the weapon Jon will have to use against Wights. They will All use Fire as a weapon.
~ • ¥ • ~
Back to Blackwater, where the fearless Lannister almost dies. It could be said the old lustful, condescending and entitled Tyrion did DIE. He awakes changed. His physical appearance is a mental and a physical scar. It could be theorized that he was reborn amidst "salt and smoke."

He is allotted meager lodging and feels punished for his victory. This parallels Jon in the show. After Hard Home, Jon returns to be stabbed by brothers of the NW as he bleeds below a traitor's cross. An attempt also is made on the Queen of dragons in the fighting pits, after she tries to bring peace to Mereen.
A reward is eventually presented to the youngest Lannister sibling. Tyrion receives the title, Master of coins, and is given Lady Sansa Stark as a bride, which also gives him claim to the North, if she gives him an heir. Except, Tyrion sees her as a child and beds Shae instead. Tywin be damned! :flushed:
> • ——— • ¥ • ——— • <
PUNISHED AGAIN
Jump ...skip to Joffrey's First and Last time as a groom. During this regal engagement, he dies by wine, pie or custard frosting. Whichever delight laid him low, his uncle Tyrion would bare the blame.
The question lingers... Did Tywin help frame Tyrion for the Purple Wedding? Does he truly think his son is partly responsible? After all, Tyrion continues to show sympathy for Sansa. He finds the Red wedding distasteful. He also brought his forbidden fruit to Kingslanding. Knowing Tywin already had a disdain for him, he probably should have left Shae back at the camp. Ohhhh Hindsight! :relaxed:

What IS known (by us, the audience) is that Tyrion is framed for King Joffrey's poisoning. He was in charge of the cup in which his nephew drank and had been known to correct him, even physically repremend him. At his trial, witnesses testified against Tyrion, including his love/whore Shae and his political frienemy Varys. In Lieu of the circumstances, It seemed trial by combat was his only hope for survival. A very unlikely champion volunteered, OBERYN, a Prince of Dorne. How convenient to have an experienced warrior who abhors your father as well as the crown's champion, the Mountain. The Seven gods must love this Little Lion. -most people don't have a PRINCE fight for them.
The unlikely occurs, Oberyn seems to defeat the Mountain that Rides, but is then crushed in the end, leaving Tyrion to face death. So goodbye Tyrion!!.... Just kidding, his annoyingly handsome Kingsguard older brother has made arrangements with the Master of Whisperers to help Tyrion escape. (Of course :yum: ) This leads to Tyrion finding Shea in his father's bed and Tywin in his privy just shy of a few arrows. Moments later the bells ring. Tyrion escapes and Varys is screwed. Varys cannot return to the Capitol and is forced into exile with his stunted Lannister friend.

A DWARF REMOVED
Dwarf heads are being severed all over Kingslanding as possible "Tyrions", meanwhile the real ONE safely travels to Pentos ( okay, in a snug box  ). But he still arrives safely and is still a drunkard, more of one possibly. Refusing to stay hidden, he goes into public and is captured. The story diverges from book to show, but he continues to elude death. Which is the important factor. Whether it be slavery, sell sword companies or fighting pits... He just keeps awkwardly waddling along. He uses his wits and stays afloat.

Tyrion fighting under bridge

Forced to leave his home, just like Dany and Jon, his cunning is his weapon, his name is his shield. He sells his Lannister birth rite in the books and uses it to endear Danearys in the show, while he also its to killing both his parents. He is dually, a Lannister and a Lannister killer.
Lastly, in the show only, he survives the dragon catacombs. A stranger to the starving Fire Breathers, he successfully unchains them. Unharmed once again.

DOTH HIS SURVIVAL, UPSET THEE?
I read countless frustrations toward Khalesi and The King of the North, but Tyrion constantly eludes death and there is little to no mention of it. He continues to make poor choices and lives after each one.

All three characters are favorites of mine. All three seem to me to fulfill the idea of a three headed dragon, flaws and all. That being laid out, Tyrion is not the only person who I believe could be the third head. In the next post, another likely candidate will be explored.

Thanks for making this far. The other entries will not be as long. 🙄

I don’t believe that Tyrion is the third dragon. This is also why they had viserion killed. To rule that theory out. 2 dragons for 2 riders. Tyrion is a Lannister. Jaime will kill Cersei and Jaimie then gets killed by the mountain who gets killed by the hound. That leaves Tyrion as the hand and the new lord and heir to casterly rock as proclaimed by Dany!
But a nice and entertaining post, keep it up!

I understand what you’re saying and trying to do, but I believe that this topic is not relevant anymore. When Dany still had her 3 dragons we all ‘wished’ for 3 riders and were theorising about that. The situation is completely different now that there are only 2 living dragons left. Maybe I missed something but what else are you referring to as the 3 dragons, why are you looking for a ‘3 headed dragon’, I believe when Dany came to Westeros she had her 3 dragons, just like Aegon the Conqueror, simple as that. Don’t you recon?

Your response tells me you are only invested in the show. Daenerys is still in possession of three dragons in the books. Just as well, there are a few characters that are still capable of Warging animals, so a wight dragon is not an obstacle for everyone. In the books, there is even a horn said to control them. So, whether or not, Dany even has control of her dragons is NOT relevant in establishing who a third rider might be.

You are absolutely right! I stand corrected. I really need to brush up on re-reading the books, it’s been too long and I was caught unawares that it’s a book-topic over here. My apologies! I have a few theories with regards to other dragon riders in that case, but I’ll wait until you’ve gone through all the possibilities.
Great post! I just feel like this one is just a bit stretched out. Surely Tyrion was very important but I wouldn’t say he’s the hero in the Azor Ahai sense- that would go against the structure of his character. But I liked some observations you made!
Well thanks so much for the ! This was the introductory piece where three characters had to be established. The other pieces are a bit tapered in comparison.
Thanks again for reading  🙃!!

Thank you!! :wolf: :wolf:
Tyrion being the third dragon seems too likely, given he's the nominal third protagonist along with Jon and Daenerys. I think we are being lead to believe that it's going to be him, and in the end it won't be. Top predictable. Not the way George works.
Tyrion will probably die.
Yes, it very well could be that there is another better suited to be the third head. I hope you stay tuned. More options will be posted for possible third head. Thanks so much for reading! :purple_heart: :wolf:
but to being the third Dragon. i have to see it to believe it, Varys is not ruled out yet
There are endless candidates for the third head. I agree Tyrion stands out the most. So, I tackled him first. Thanks so much for looking this over.
while i understand this is not real lifr and its written and directed by people, if you point out what tryion goes through amd survives, in context to the WOIAF, plot armor is all over him, but hey, its just a story and I'm glad he's still alive.
loved how you reminded us of his " sword" inside Tysha and got her killed!! :satisfied:
Fantasy's favorite imp has avoiding dead at every turn 🙂. I have zero complaints. Each one was phenomenal to read.
But his "sword" has carved out a certain date for him  🙃
I hope he begins using it as wisely as he does his tongue. Hmmm... How do I re-phrase that.. Nevermind.. We're all adults here :relaxed:
