Happy Bday Mannis!

Trigger Warning: Abuse and Torture

Hello Friends! Today is our king's birthday :birthday: Help me wish him a most happiest birthday!

I love Mannis and he has been a great friend to me over the years. He makes me laugh, he makes me angry but most of all he makes me happy. He's weird and adorable and mean and grumpy. I wish you a wonderful birthday and many, many more to come.

I made an art for a gift for him. This is the most intense piece I've made in a while. Usually I only focus on one or two subjects in my art. This one has several. It depicts the "Battle of Ice" in the "The Winds of Winter." With all the research and actual drawing, this took me well over a day (24 hours) in total. I have been working on it non stop.

As usual I used my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the free art app Infinite Painter. In hindsite I wish I used another app since there are layer restrictions on the app. It isn't as detailed as I would want it to be. Also drawing on my phone is messing with my eye sight so I am going to finish up the few in process arts I have before moving to Procreate on my iPad because I'm old and I need to protect my eyes.

Inspiration

Well Stannis is the inspiration of course as it's Mannis' birthday. But I also took inspiration from the manga Berserk and took inspiration from the shot of the weirwood in Bran's dream.

WIPS

Again, the video playback was weird and played out of sequence. I noticed this happens when the play back video is longer (the longer the art took me to create).

Roose

Roose Bolton is the commander of the opposing army. He is the current Lord of Winterfell. He is described as having eyes like "two pale moons." He is not young nor old looking. He is plain looking. Roose has short fingers. He has a pink wool cloak with droplets of red, I opted for a blood splatter instead of a pattern. The ronels on his armor are faces of men screaming. I also made the armor look like a flayed man.

Reek

Reek is the tortured Theon Greyjoy. After his time with Ramsay, his sister doesn't even recognize him. He looks as if he aged fourty years and his hair has gone white. He is caked in dirt and filth and I think I could have made him dirtier. I tried to make his clothes stained but I didnt make him as gross as I wanted. He is also missing teeth and fingers. I drew him very skinny as I doubt he is fed well.

Jeyne

"Jeyne Jeyne, it rhymes with pain." Jeyne is one of the most unfortunate characters in A Song of Ice and Fire. She is repeatedly beaten and sexually abused by Ramsay. She is being presented as Arya Stark and is married to Ramsay. But Arya has grey Stark eyes. Jeyne has brown eyes. Her and Theon escape Winterfell by jumping from the walls, breaking her ribs. From what we know, her nose has frosbite and she will likely lose it.

Asha

Asha is captured by Stannis. I feel I made her a bit too pretty. Asha has a hook nose, short dark hair and a scar on her neck.

Hosteen Frey

Another opposing general, Hosteen is the commander of the Frey Army. He is described as big and stupid. He has a square and jutted jaw (which i took to mean an underbite).

"Angry foes do not concern me. Anger makes men stupid, and Hosteen Frey was stupid to begin with, if half of what I have heard of him is true. Let him come." --Stannis.

I made him cold and annoyed. I gave him the classic Frey coif hat. For his armor I made it resemble the Twins, with a builing on top and below with water inbetween. He is half Crakehall (thanks Vic and Barry).

Tycho Nestoris

Tycho is a banker from the Iron Bank of Braavos. He is there to secure a loan to Stannis. He is described as tall and thin. He wears purple lined with ermine and has a three tiered hat. His beard is long and thin and reaches his waist.

Ramsay

Ramsay is one of the truest villains in the series. He is abusive and cruel. He enjoys mind games as well as physical and sexual torture. Ramsay is described as big boned and fleshy. He has brittle dry hair and fat worm lips. His skin is also splotchy pink. He wears a mantel of wolf's fur with a wolf head with yellow eyes on his right shoulder. Ramsay also wears a red garnet in the shape of a drop of blood on his right ear.

Stannis

My Bald King. Stannis isn't rich nor does he care about his armor looking cool. He is there to do his duty. His hair is like a "shadow of a crown" around his head. I gave him a tattered cloak as he has been living in blizzard conditions outside of Winterfell. There is fire behind him as a nod to the Nightlamp theory.

White Walker and Bloodraven

The white walkers are described as long and beautiful with long white hair. Their blades are white like milk. I put one in the background because they are the real threat all should be concerned with.

I gave a nod to Bloodraven because he has "A Thousand Eyes and One." I don't know if the Battle of Ice concerns him, but I think he would be interested to watch it.

This is one of the most anticipated battles in the book. It may replace the show's "Battle of the Bastards."
