For this post I'll be talking about plots the show didn't bring in or plots that were substantially changed.
Although the show started pretty well, it has been having problems in bringing certain plots to screen. Many of them are lost forever in Martin's prose.
1. The Dornish Master Plan.
This one is probably the one that pissed me off the most, basically because in the other cases stories just got shortened way too early or just made two characters as one. But this plot? This plot is non-existent, since the Sand Snakes and Ellaria just enter crazy revenge mode and improvise along the way. Besides, they just kill off Doran and Areo in 6x01 like nothing to resume the Snakes' adventures in 6x10, to wrap up like nothing happened. Not okay.

2. Sansa as Jeyne Poole.
The problem here is that while in the books Sansa is finally kind of having a peaceful time, in the show she spents a briefly time at the Vale just to later from Lannisters tormentors to Boltons. So of course she enters revenge mood: Ramsay has raped her and abused her, she lives in constant fear of what may happen. It wouldn't be surprising if she started to whisper her own kill list at night.

3. Theon and Asha's different quest.
Well, I feel like there's something cool for Theon coming in the books. Asha and her ironborn last option to overthrown Euron is basically him, since unlike in the show, Theon was not at the Kingsmoot. In comparison to the others this change doesn't bother me that much.

4. Stannis, like where did you go man?
Stannis end of arc at season 5 betrayed his character in many ways: he burns his daughter alive because that's how the lord of Light will make him win? He doesn't even believe in that god. When surprisingly that burning doesn't stop the snows, he goes into desperate mode: we came to battle, it would be disappointing if we retired just now even if it's obvious we will lose. Stannis is a good strategist, for god's sake.

5. Northern conspiracies.
As with the Dornish plan these were non-existent. The Manderlys wanted to secretly rescue Rickon? Who? Glovers? Do they even exist? Umbers? Nono, those stupid traitors...The Karstarks seemed to be the only ones in place, and the man mysteriously disappeared...

6. Mance Rayder???
In seasons 5 & 6 things are just what they seem. If they burned Mance Rayder don't delude yourself, they burned Mance Rayder. We don't yet know for sure what are Mance's schemes, but he has something prepared for sure.

7. This is just nitpicking, but Jon's death in the books is so...weird.
Like you don't even know what is happening in Jon's mind when he openly says that he's going to desert the Night's Watch for going against Ramsay. Like what the hell Jon? This may show how much Arya means to him, but knowing how bad his men are taking every decision he makes, telling that you're gonna break your vows like that may not be the best idea. In the show it was much more plain, but anyway, like I said, I was being too specific here.

8. Aegon Targaryen.
I guess that's better not to introduce plots you can't keep up with, so maybe it's for the better. Probably Dany will get some of his plot material. Still, a pity.

I'm most surely forgetting some plots or details you may have wanted to see in the show, so do tell me in the comments all about it! :)

For it's the journey of Tyrion, in the books it's such a beautifull story!

Yeah but maybe i am not fair, Tyrion is my favorite pov ;)
Agree about the Dornish plot - it was butchered and a waste of time. D & D should have scrapped that and put in the Aegon/Faegon story line. Wish they would have continued the Mance Rayder plot - would have been really good.
The other plot line that was totally ruined was Arya in Braavos.
I can be somewhat forgiving to D&D as the story is so massive they had to do a whole lot of editing. However It is becoming more apparent that they are on their own in of the plot lines and just are not up to par with GRRM. I think they are getting burnt out and just want it to be over. Luckily we we always have the books - or so I hope! :dizzy:

Yeah - they really took some wrong turns. The Aegon plot could have been easily added if they would have scrapped the awful Dorne plot. The Aegon plot would have to be simplified but could easily have been done - even leaving Tyrion & Jorah out of it and still on their own. Sigh - why didn't they just ask us????

I kind of feel like the show just has been trying to make all these characters go berserk to make good television, you know...
For example:
Sansa has no joy in seeing people dying in the books, she didn't even feel happy or whatsoever when Joffrey died and she generally just doesn't want anyone to be harmed kind of, and even though I can understand that she wanted Ramsay to die horribly on the show, I feel like it wasn't necessary to make it seem like she could really enjoy continiung to do such stuff.
Yep, things are going fast and crazy in GoT. And also, I understand that not every single character can make it to the show, but the Dornish Master Plan and the Northern Conspiracy are brilliant! And the only ones who want to rush things are them themselves: they could make more seasons if they wanted with the usual 10 episodes. They know fans would watch it. People still follows Supernatural with 12 seasons, for god sake. Anyway
