Hello Thrones Amino, it's me Stannis with my entry to the Lucia. The link to part 2 can be found right

Here

So Lucia and i decided to take a look at The Nightlamp theory. It's been a very long time since the last blog about this topic, so we thought to do another blog about it. In my part of the blog i'll be explaining the environment in which this event is set and both of the factions involved in this event. Let's get right into it!

The current location of king Stannis his army is Crofter's Village. It lies about a day's ride west from Winterfell. It's a relatively small village, and is only protected by it's natural borders, which are two lakes north and south from the village. King Stannis is currently located in that village with about 5,400 men. Most of these are on foot, since most of the horses died because of the blizzard that has been going on.

On the other side is Roose Bolton, who has send out an army of 2000 men on horses under command of Aenys Frey. Ser Hosteen Frey also s Aenys. Roose Bolton also sends out lord Wyman Manderly, because he does not trust him. If Stannis would win the battle, that would mean that Roose would lose a potential enemy in Wyman Manderly. Ramsay Bolton follows too with roughly 1000 men, increasing the number to 3000 riders.

Aenys Frey, however, falls into a pit dug by Mors Umber and dies, and the command of the entire army es to Hosteen Frey. This is great, since Hosteen Frey is a complete idiot who doesn't know anything about commanding armies. Ramsay Bolton also has next to no experience in commanding. This gives Stannis a significant advantage.

The Commanders

Stannis Baratheon

Stannis Baratheon commands his army situated at Crofter's village. Stannis has shown to be a proven commander, mainly during the siege of Old Wyk. He plans to take Winterfell or die in the attemp to take it. No matter the cost. If he plans on doing something he does it. Stannis is confident of his plan to defeat Hosteen Frey, even going as far as mocking him in an arrogant way. Although Stannis his men are cold and tired because of the blizzard, he still outnumbers Hosteen. The downside is that Stannis only has about 60-80 horses...

Hosteen Frey

"Ser Stupid"

Hosteen Frey leads the army that rides out to destroy what's left of Stannis at Crofter's village. Hosteen is known for being a fierce and powerful fighter, but not a great commander at all. Stannis refers to him as "Ser Stupid", because he is confident of his victory. Since Hosteen isn't from the North, he has no actual knowledge about Crofter's Village. All his information comes from a map from the Karstarks. And because of the blizzard you can't see anything. Lucia will go into detail about this, since it's very important to the theory.

I agree what yehs said about Roose is a cautous commander Ramsay is a foolish commander putting fear into his men than loyalty if it was up to him he would charge right in and attack Stannis Roose says this a lot in the books especially too Theon when they are talking

Roose Bolton knows next to nothing about commanding? So I guess he just sat around during Robert's Rebellion and the War of the Five Kings? He's a cautious commander, doesn't mean he's a bad one

Roose Bolton is an experienced commander. Ramsay however...he isn't.
