In part 1 I discussed the many theories out there on Jon's parents. This time we shall look to the past. Prophecies, promises, heroes & more.

**Some of these theories and prophecies include other people but this post is 100% for the White Wolf!**
**Azor Ahai and The Prince That Was Promised seem to be one in the same. When Melisandre talks of Azor Ahai, she also refers to him/her as The Prince That Was Promised. I will examine each separately.**
The Prince That Was Promised (TPTWP)
:crown: •·•·•·⚔·•·•·• :crown:
We hear about TPTWP from several different sources. Most coming from the Red Woman, Melisandre. She thinks that AA & TPTWP are the same person. Born amidst salt and smoke to wake dragons out of stone, and will draw a burning sword from the fire, Lightbringer. And the darkness shall flee before him.
Mel first believed that Stannis Baratheon was the Promised Prince, and on the show she now believes that person is Jon. AA & TPTWP are seemingly the same. Azor Ahai being the person's name, and TPTWP being the prophecy of AA.
However there's a chance that they are 2 different tales of 2 different individuals. If so, that means that mankind combined these tales over time and consider them to be the same figure.
Jon can easily be TPTWP. If we assume R+L=J, and Rhaegar and Lyanna got married, Jon would then be a Prince. Following that same assumption, when Ned finds Lyanna in the Tower of Joy, she asked her brother Ned to promise her something. That promise was most likely Lyanna asking Ned to promise to keep the baby (Jon) safe. So that would make Jon The Prince That Was Promised. Great theory with much evidence, so I'll give it a 9.5.
Azor Ahai (AA)
:fire: 🗡••••••••••••🗡 :fire:
Azor Ahai is the man who drove back the darkness during the last Long Night. It's said that he forged his sword by stabbing his wife Nissa Nissa. That sword is Lightbringer. Whether or not this will play out again, there are several ways to view this prophecy.

It is said that "When the Red Star bleeds, and the Darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be reborn amidst salt and smoke to wake dragons out of stone. He shall draw from the fire a burning sword, Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes.
![*ALL* Jon Snow Theories - Part 2-[B]Heya Throners, Weirwood King here, and before I start, please be sure to check out SmokeS](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.vertvonline.info%2F6502%2Fa6786c7501cf5c07cc69c86cbef98d5d87f140fa_hq.jpg)
There are several interpretations of Azor Ahai but they're all basically the same. The red star, reborn amidst salt and smoke, and waking dragons out of stone. Oh and Lightbringer :ok_hand: 🏻
If we look at what we saw inside the Tower of Joy, the bleeding star would be Arthur Daynes sword Dawn that was covered in blood. The sword that is made of a fallen star. Thus we get the bleeding star.
The salt? Easy, Lyanna is crying, as does Ned. He's born amidst salt. The smoke? I don't know lol. Waking dragons out of stone? That piece is missing as well. Unless we assume Jon wakes a dragon from the Crypts of Winterfell??
There's obvious pieces of evidence that fits, but still we have missing ingredients. I'll rate this one a 8.
When Jon dies in the books, the Mutiny at Castle Black, a Nights Watchmen is killed and there's mention of a star sigil, thus we have a bloody star.
One of the mutineers is crying, so there's salt. And Jon's wounds are described as "smoking."
So we have salt and smoke, and a bleeding star. We are missing the stone dragons, but this theory is strong nonetheless. So I'll give this one an 8.5

On the show, Olly is crying as he stabs Jon. Ser Davos the Onion Knight, so either one could be the salt. Davos asks Melisandre to try her magic, and Mel herself Is fire, so she can be the smoke. She also cuts Jon's hair and burns it, creating smoke.
So we definitely have salt and smoke. No bleeding star, but waking stone dragons? Jon was dead. He was a stone-cold corpse, and he's assumed to have Targaryen blood, the blood of the dragons. So when Jon is reborn, the Stone Dragon (Jon) wakes!

On the show, I can really see this being the true prophecy about Azor Ahai reborn. It has almost every element needed, only the bleeding star is missing. This is a popular theory, so I have to give it a 9.5. It would be a 10 if we had the bleeding star.
I used to view the Azor Ahai prophecy as an actual person being born amidst all those things. And I thought that person would have been Jon. But I've come to think of this prophecy from a different perspective.

So we know AA sacrificed NN to forge Lightbringer. And by doing so, he was able to drive back the darkness wielding Lightbringer. To me, the act of AA sacrificing NN ended the Long Night. Not to wield a flaming sword, but whoever Nissa Nissa was, she had to have been VERY important to the Long Night itself.
![*ALL* Jon Snow Theories - Part 2-[B]Heya Throners, Weirwood King here, and before I start, please be sure to check out SmokeS](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.vertvonline.info%2F6502%2Fdcf27e90c33c92eb520084dc89498b2ff2d9111e_hq.jpg)
I would go so far to say that Nissa Nissa had magical abilities. Perhaps a Warg, perhaps a Dragonrider! Maybe both, maybe none, but Nissa Nissa HAD to have a huge role in the Battle for the Dawn. If her death was enough to end the Long Night, NN must have been VERY special, & VERY important!

The question still remains, how in 7 hells did Azor Ahai know that the war would end by killing Nissa Nissa? Did the flames speak to him?

Probably, and I think Jon will be shown the flashback of the original Azor Ahai and Nissa Nissa via Bran, to show Jon what he must do. Or, Jon will realize himself of what to do. What must be done?
He would have to sacrifice Dany. To rid the world of dragons and to bring balance back to the realm. The Mother of Dragons, and her 3 "children" would have to be sacrificed to end the Long Night.
I like this last one! It fits nicely, with Nissa Nissa being this powerful being that needed to die to end the war for the dawn. And Daenerys Stormborn would be Nissa Nissa incarnate!! And Jon would be AA! And Jon will know what to do because of Bran. There's a couple of ideas in this one so overall I'll rate it an 8!

The Last Hero
:diamonds: ····· :bust_in_silhouette: ····· :diamonds:
The tale of the Last Hero is that a man saught to find the Children of the Forest with a sword, a dog, a horse, and 12 companions. They went to seek out the Children in hopes that their magic could end the Long Night.

Old Nan says he searched for years, with all his companions dying, the horse and even his dog. His sword froze and broke when he tried using it. She says the Others silently tracked and stalked him, hunting him with their packs of Ice Spiders big as hounds.
- And then she's interrupted by Maester Luwin.
Samwell Tarly tells Jon Snow that he read of the Last Hero being unstoppable against the Others, wielding a blade of dragonsteel.
So,
One story says the Last Hero was effective against the Others and the other ends with him having not even a sword, and is being hunted by Ice Spiders.
I can really picture Jon with both descriptions. They say he set out with a sword and a dog, 2 things that Jon happens to own. And the 12 companions, they will be the 12 heroes that go with Jon.
Qhorin Halfhand of the Nights Watch survived an entire winter beyond the Wall, so it's definitely possible for Jon to survive as well. With the 12 heroes dying onr by one, and eventually it's just Jon and Ghost. Then even Ghost dies and then Jon breaks Longclaw. I wish Old Nan said more...
As for the Last Hero defeating the Others with dragonsteel, Jon again fits the bill. Jon even has a dream where he's slaying Wights with a Red Sword.
Jon is the person most focused on the White Walkers and it would make much sense for him to make this journey. Whether it's to seek out the Children of the Forest, or to find the WWs to kill them using a blade of "Dragonsteel."
Again we have another strong theory, but to be honest, I'd say the "Last" hero would be either Jon or Bran, 50/50. I'll give this a 5.
★-------★-------★
So that's all for now my fellow Throners! And yes I know that there are more theories about Jon, but these are the most popular and are the most likely. Jon could be one of the 3 dragon heads but that's more of an assumption than it is a theory.
What do U think about these theories? Is Jon AA, or is he yet to fulfill the prophecy? Is he TPTWP, are AA & TPTWP truly the same? Also, is there any other theories I missed that you believe in? If so please tell me below in the comments section!!
Is Jon ANY of these figures? Is he ALL of them?
YOU BE THE JUDGE

I doubt ghost will actually die.
Nice blog. We are given no definition of TPTWP, so we can't even if someone is or not. But there is the story of the woods witch prediction, although that reeks of being politically motivated (to arrange a marriage), but it can't be dismissed.
Mel's combining the two means nothing to me, look how wrong she was about Stannis.
It seems to be a Targaryen-centric thing, and even that is a guess.
As for AA: Any theory that uses the salt=tears routine fails for me. For that aspect of the prophecy to be so poetically indirect and the rest be literal doesn't work.
AA ended the Long Night, and the Last Hero fought back the Others. I see those as two separate events.
Thx 🙂Yea I'd say it's 50/50 that AA = TPTWP, and the Last Hero is probably someone else. And yea the tears appear everywhere. Jons birth and death. Tears from Lyanna while Rhaegar sang. Tears of Lys lol.
I agree. AA could be the Prince but the Last Hero will end up being someone else.
Great blog.
Thank you! 🙂
If there is an azor ahai then jon is 100% it. Done deal.
Not so sure about the prince who was promised and azor ahai being the same tho could be i go back and forth
Lsst hero i think is Bran or sam last hero is assoiated with magic and knowledge not so much Jons thing.
I do like your theory
Thx! Yea I think the Last Hero will be Bran. But it can easily be Jon. And yea AA/TPTWP could be different but idk. It's hard to answer that without more info

Gods I can't wait for answers. Not the show but more textual evidence. There's a lot of possibilities for several characters and I can't wait to see what theories I got wrong, what we're right. But as it stands, it seems we won't get those answers for quite some time
Love the artwork!!!
I stick to my o.g. theory. I believe Daenerys to be the new Night Queen. She will be the sacrifice for all mankind...
Jon will be the hero figure. Whatever title fits...AA, Last Hero... He shall be the new legendary figure that held back the darkness.
Fun series!!! :+1: :+1:
Thanks!! And yea I made a few pictures for this one. But yes Dany will be sacrificed. I believe that more than RLJ
